Lets remember now that Mayweather wasn't "acting" like the bad guy then. He also wasn't a PPV king until after he "beat" Hoya (who I actually had ahead by 1).

Any fight Mayweather takes part in NOW will do numbers. I doubt we will see him do less than 1M...... We all know how picky he is about who he fights. i dont see anything less than 1M.

I was really shocked at 700K. To get as much media as Pac did and only do 700K seems bad to me. NOW the 51K people at the fight is good. WE (in the US) don't get those kind of numbers.

Named 1 fighter Floyd fought who was unknown and no fanbase that did impressive numbers.?

We're talking about what Floyd can do now.

51k people and 700k buys was only for Pacquiao not Clottey..

PPV buys from Marquez were mostly 90% from Hispanic region..

If Floyd fights Clottey or any other unknown fighters that never headlined a PPV can break 700k buys or more, then I will be impress.

      Lmaoooooooooooooooooooooooooooo..

To a degree yes. When he fought Hatton he did EXACTLY what he said he would do. People also tend to forget that once the fight was over and before Hatton cried for weeks on end. Mayweather made his way over and was very respectful and "caring" towards him. Very sportsman like. NOT the arrogant ass he can be that smart-fully sells the fight......

Yeah, with great help from Mosley. Mayweather vs. non-bankables like Judah, Baldomir didn't sell...and those fights were before recession.

I was at the NY press conference. All the mouth is an act. Floyd is a good dude. The act has made him the biggest star in boxing but the way the man tends to his family and cares about people makes it clear that he's a good dude.

Sure, it is surprising but it is also surprising that Pac sold 51,000 tickets...

Are you saying that 30,000 more people spending on average $1000 to go see Pac is less impressive than 300,000 spending $50 to watch Mayweather on tv????

                Numbers dont lie *****....

Those fights where before De La Hoya. Mayweather didn't become the PPV king until after he fought Hoya. Anything now wont do less than 1M. Like I said for Pac to get so much media and only do 700K seems ****ty.

                    A non-heavyweight fight, by two non-Americans
in the US at the tail end of recession. With one of the fighters not being a draw did making that much buys is something.

As is the pre-fight **** talking. But who cares, the **** talking only hurts your feelings and makes him money. The sportsman like conduct done AFTER the fight fake or not is only the "right" thing to do.

Floyd didn't have to go over and say **** but he did. Your only a hater. After he "technically" beats Pac who has the perfect style for Mayweather, I guarantee he walks over and praises him and thanks him and says he IS a great fighter as HE truly is and will always be.

Mayweather is an arrogant ******* before the fight that will sell over 1M, what is key here is that after the fact he has great respect for the other guy and is very sportsman like. Just as Tyson was when Lewis beat him.
