teddy atlas is great for boxing, he tells it how it is and he doesnt care what people say.

plus he isnt an ******* like joe tessitore. remember on the espn ppv that cornerman of brock accedently stepped into the screen and joe tessitore pushed him to the side and said" hey, were trying to do a show here!" like a real snob and teddy said to joe "its alright" because it was an honest mistake.

Teddy Atlas does tell it like it is but sometimes he comes off as a border line lunatic. I like Atlas though...

Not really. Vargas hasnt't even fought at 154. Not even 160. His last fight he hit 162. At least Mayorga can make 154 lbs (obviously he can after being at 147 and being to small for 160).

          Mayorga>Vargas at 154.

Mayorga is a more live and legit fighter these days than Vargas.
More live & legit fighter? Well then I'd LOVE to get embarassed for 12 straight rounds vs. a feather-fisted fighter, then get KTFO by Tito Trinidad, if that's what it takes to become "live & legit" then count me in!!!! I guess by those standards Andrew Golota is on top of the boxing world....c'mon SL you're a great, thoughtful writer on this site, Mayorga is a lot of fun to watch but he hasn't been "live & legit" since the Forrest fights

Mayorga gets credit for a knockdown vs Spinks (who is also a good fighter) and Mayorga stays undisputed. The fight was by no means a domination. Getting KTFO by Tito was expected. Who cares? Mayorga is smaller and was prefectly made for Tito. That was at 160 anyway. Mayorga is a top 10 fighter at 154, end of story. Golota got stopped in 1 round on a couple occasions, which has never happened to Mayorga.

In any case, any way you slice it, Mayorga is more live and legit than Vargas is. Vargas would get kiled by Mayorga.

teddy said something like,"Don king is good friend with Sulemon(sp),and if the #1 contender is a don king fighter and hasnt earned his shot, well thats all you need to know" he compared it to baseball or football,he was like the bears dont get to play in the playoffs by paying someone off,you earn your way up

that wasnt exactly it but he said something like that.

Oh, I see..so, since theirs was $10-$20 cheaper, it's not the least bit hypocritical?? Especially since Teddys favorite 'saying' was something about televised boxing should be free to the fans, regardless of who's fighting.
