Teddy Atlas goes OFF on WBC!!!

Did anybody else catch Teddy Atlas' rant about the WBC situation surrounding the Castillejo/Vargas/Mayorga fiasco??? Man, Teddy gets more fired up on-camera than any other announcer in any sport. Do you think his complaints were justified? Do you think Mayorga deserves the title shot? Or Vargas, for that matter?

IMO neither guy has the right to be considered the mandatory WBC contender at 154....if anything, Mayorga should be top 10-15 at 160, and Vargas should be around 8-10 at 154

Did you go to the fights at Arco Arena last night?

If so, how did it go?

couldn't go, just watched them on Solo Boxeo, Castaneda looked like he always does: workmanlike, active, but with very little defense....Chente was awesome, he has a straight right hand that's lighting-quick, once ge gets a little older that right hand is gonna be Hearns-esque

I caught that on ESPN. I totally agree with him. There should be no reason why Don King should have so much controll over the wbc. Sen McCain should definitely step in there and fix these issues.

As long as Suleyiman is such good buddies with King that will be a problem. I heard Ted going on about it last night, and I totally agree with him. I kept remembering though how he used to "go on" that way over ppv prices too, and now ESPN is doing it too. Hard to take him serious when for yr's I heard him rant over that and now theyre doing the very same thing

I don't know how anybody can not love Teddy and his incoherent and drunken sounding rants. I think he forgets what he is talking about halfway through the tyrade and starts over again. I think you could see Tesitorre wincing as the exec's at ESPN were yelling into his ear "Make him stop talking. Cut him off! CUT HIM OFF!"

I see what you're saying but, Atlas doesn't run espn, He has no say in business related issues. Is he supposed to keep expressing his opinions in regards to PPV events and lose his job over it. He probably feels the same way but, unfortunately has to keep his mouth shut on that topic so he can make a living.
