As for his brother, like in another thread today, having a brother does not excuse your loss.

Like how Vitali and Wlad both want haye now. Big brother kicking ass does not mean your resume is better
Agreed, but there is no doubt in my mind Wlad would have knocked out either Purrity or Sanders had there been rematches. It just so happened that those fights would have been pointless since Sanders and Purrity were no longer in contention when the rematches could have happened, etc.

It's a moot point, but Wlad now wastes anyone on Lennox's resume' aside from Vitali of 2003. That's saying a whole lot in my opinion.

No reason to avenge Puritty, and Sanders was undeserving of a title shot by the time Wlad bounced back.
A bit funny that Vitali felt the need to fight him 3 years later though.

I'll disagree on Mercer, Chagaev and Ibragimov.

Mercer was old. No way in hell

Chagaev is a horrible fighter IMO. He is below Tua for me. I dislike watching him fight.

Ibragimov I can';t say I have seen much of apart from his borefest with Wlad and a fight with holyfield. Looking at his record, I don't see him being above Tua.

He has also retired and I think I recall him saying he made his money and is not hugnry to box.

Good win yes, but he was 37 years old. The same guy people though was shot before he faced Tyson the first time at 34.

Given Evander's 2-4-1 record in the 7 fights right after Lewis, it's just hard for me to call it a great win.

Great name to have on your resume yes, just like Tyson. But Lennox in reality had bigger wins than those.

            Now what?
            In your opinion?

Lewis beat Vitali by 6th round TKO. Nothing to do with opinions, thats a fact

How did he lost that in your opinion when he stopped the guy? Is not like it was a gift decision. And, he fought Tyson what a year earlier? Was he coming off a the longest layoff of his career? if not one of the longest? Did he also not weight in at the heaviest of his career?

              Now what?

I don't think so at all. Wlad has a far superior defense at this stage than Lennox did and make no mistake about it, Wlad has a better jab and more punching power. Lennox's dodgy chin could see him go to sleep on Wlad's hard, straight, fast right hand.

Good fight and I think it's a toss up with both men at their best.

Note* Vitali clowned the champ Lennox on ten days notice.

I disagree, especially that injury prone Chagaev.

I was refering to prime Mercer, of course.

Chagaev a horrible fighter? He beat Valuev way more clearly than David Haye, a fighter whose nuts you hug, so yeah...

Ibragimov could easily outbox Tua the way Byrd did. And no he has not retired (at least according to himself, it was his manager who said it but Ibragimov denied it, although I wonder when he's going to fight again).

I disagree with you too, Tua could be outboxed with anyone with good boxing skills, which Chagaev has, plus he has a good chin.
