Agreed, but there is no doubt in my mind Wlad would have knocked out either Purrity or Sanders had there been rematches. It just so happened that those fights would have been pointless since Sanders and Purrity were no longer in contention when the rematches could have happened, etc.

It's a moot point, but Wlad now wastes anyone on Lennox's resume' aside from Vitali of 2003. That's saying a whole lot in my opinion.

Wladimir now is a top fighter yes.

Every fighter has a green stage and a prime stage and then an erm fall down stage.

ATM Wlad is in his prime and has a few years to find more fighters. Now that he is on top, people will go to Germany and he will get the fights. He may surpass Leiw's resume but I don't think he beats Lewis. I still count green stage of a career into the equation when looking at a fighters resume. There was a thread before about Ali and both Klit's. I personally felt that both would not beat every fighter Ali had faced or himself. It's like going through the toughest era ever with 15 rounds, blistering heat and the fighters were strong and hungry.

Lewis is a better version of Wlad to me. Don't get me wrong, I prefer to watch Vitali, Tyson etc... above both, but for now, Lewis has the better resume.

I don't think so at all. Wlad has a far superior defense at this stage than Lennox did and make no mistake about it, Wlad has a better jab and more punching power. Lennox's dodgy chin could see him go to sleep on Wlad's hard, straight, fast right hand.

Good fight and I think it's a toss up with both men at their best.

It wasn't Vitali who Purrity and Sanders knocked out.You can make the excuse that Wladimir was well ahead against Purrity but he still didn't beat him.Sanders straight up destroyed Wladimir in his prime.

Wlad was not in his prime yet and Sanders caught him off gaurd. That's all there was to it. He was more stunned in that fight than hurt. He got up to his feet every time. Even at the end.

No version of Sanders could beat the Wladimir 2005-present.

Chagaev a horrible fighter? He beat Valuev way more clearly than David Haye, a fighter whose nuts you hug, so yeah...

Ibragimov could easily outbox Tua the way Byrd did. And no he has not retired (at least according to himself, it was his manager who said it but Ibragimov denied it, although I wonder when he's going to fight again).

Lewis didn't have a dodgy chin.

His chin was actually very good. He took some hard shots in his time, even Vitali's.

Rahman got him because he was fat, out of shape and was breathing through his mouth by round 3.

Lennox didn't go into the fight thinking, "I'm going to win this thing oin cuts". It was a gift win and everyone with sense knows it.

Depends on whether you count the WBO tin belt or not. A lot of people didn't/don't, because everyone knew who the true champion was.

Lewis was the legitimate, unified, undisputed heavyweight champion of the world, and even when he wasn't he atleast had a claim with the other champions refusing to fight him. It's arguable that Wladimir isn't even the best fighter in his own family. Unfortunate, but that's how it is and how it will remain.
