Before beating Hopkins, he was average. When he beat Hopkins, he was average...BUT he was looked at as above average. Taylor is remembered as the guy who beat Bernard Hopkins, nothing more, nothing less. After Hopkins, he fought two JMW, Winky, then got KOd. Two of those win were controversial. He was never that good to begin with, just a fighter who had Hopkins number by being more active.Comment

At least Taylor put up a fight & floored Pavlik, unlike Kelly who just got battered and embarassed by a 43 year old, also in the Abraham fight Jermain didn't go into survival mode after the 6th round cos he was still coming forward in the 12th, that's how he got caught & was a little unfortunate cos he deserved to go the distance, funny also Pavlik talking about JT was afraid of getting knocked out, well Kelly he wasn't as scared as you cos at least he fought Abraham instead of hiding behind a promoter. I still have big respect for JT cos he's rarely ever in a bad fight, he's not afraid of anybody & he is a warrior IMO.Comment

If he ruined him with the KO, why did he not then have an easier time beating him in the rematch, and KO him?Comment

And Taylor beating Hopkins, put Taylor in a position to live up to high expectations, sending him to a level that he wasn't ready for just yet. Beating Hopkins made Taylor an overnight success. Taylor was never that good to being with. That's how he was ruined by Hopkins. I'm not a Pavlik hater. He and Jermain are similar, after their significant wins, they didn't get any better but their competition did.
Hopkins was the best fighter that Taylor fought in his career,so how did his competition get better?Comment

Sorry but thats what happens when you win big fights=You get big fights.Beating hopkins not once but twice is something no one can say in boxing other than Taylor. If he (Taylor) wasn't that good like you say,he wouldn't have beatin B-Hop twice.
