I don't think it's particularly nice braggining about ruining someone's career.

At least Taylor put up a fight & floored Pavlik, unlike Kelly who just got battered and embarassed by a 43 year old, also in the Abraham fight Jermain didn't go into survival mode after the 6th round cos he was still coming forward in the 12th, that's how he got caught & was a little unfortunate cos he deserved to go the distance, funny also Pavlik talking about JT was afraid of getting knocked out, well Kelly he wasn't as scared as you cos at least he fought Abraham instead of hiding behind a promoter. I still have big respect for JT cos he's rarely ever in a bad fight, he's not afraid of anybody & he is a warrior IMO.

The knockout saw Pavlik unload with power shots as Taylor was trapped against the ropes. Taylor was out cold as he slumped to the mat and the ref waved off the fight. [Click Here To Read More]
Pavlik is a little ****y... But he's right. Just don't forget K Pav, it happens to anyone and you really shouldn't be openly proud about ruining other's careers... I'm just saying.

Pavlik had a little to do with the decline of Taylor, but I agree with some of the posters that Hopkins had alot to do with it also.

Most people forget what the last half of the first fight (with Hopkins ) looked like. Taylor was fading badly, and Hopkins was landing sneaky right hand at will. Taylor looked bad after the fight...After the interveiw, you could see him wondering in the background toward the showers...He didn't look ok...

Sure he looked better in the second fight (his stamina was better at the end), but he was never the same after those fights.

I never thought JT was that good to begin with, but he did used to go for it, and at times street fight with fighters...That all changed after Hopkins. It was like he didn't want to get hit. He fought scared. I blame some of his decline on Manny Stewart aswell.

              But yeah-

              The KO's don't help either.

              One More Thing:

To the poster that asked why Kelly not KO JT in the second fight? Well, JT was fighting pretty scared. He didn't take not one chance in that fight. He made Kelly miss alot, and never tried to make him pay.

Pavlik is one of the hardest punchers in the sport and I love that he tries to knock guys out. He is an old school type of fighter and there are not enough of them around anymore. Guys like Mayweather have made way too much money winning fights in boring fashion and just trying to get decisions.

Ha Froch did not ruin him. Had Taylor not been brutally knocked out by Pavlik Froch would not have won one rd against Taylor. As it was he barely won any rds and got lucky that Taylor wasn't smarter in that last rd. Froch is a B level fighter and against anybody who has a chin he will lose.

I agree with Kelly, and every time he gets knocked out it just gets worse.

Only reason I think this is partly true is because against Froch Taylor had him badly hurt and was afraid to finish because he thought hed zap his energy for later in the fight. There's no doubt in my mind Pavlik had to do with that.
