i don't think anyone really knows how old liston is.

i still say he was in his early 30's.

back then was not like before. people rarely excelled past 30.

even the few who did like archie showed their age.

he didn't get thicker and heavier 'til the long layoff.

Ali would need to pull something out of his bag of tricks, that's for sure.

Of course Wlad is not in the same ballpark as far as greatness goes, but that's not what we're talking about here. I think he gives any version of Ali the fight of his life.

I agree 100%. I just think Wlad has a good enough jab to frustrate the hell out of Ali. We never got to see what style really bothered Ali, but we never saw him against a 6'6" monster with a great jab. People really underestimate how much size actually does play a factor in boxing.

ali came at the turning point of heavyweights that's why.

before liston most heavies were under or around 200.

starting with liston , everyone started coming in at 220 or so.

that's why in the early part of his career ali fought the smaller type heavies.
