Yeh, I find it not a very good sign, because basically what is everybody saying here is that "If Dempsey and Arreola were to fight, Dempsey would have knocked Chris out cold, cause he is inducted in the Hall of Fame" How can a (lets take Jack`s maximum weight) 200lbs fighter knock out cold a 250lbs fighter with a granite chin? Or maybe Dempsey hit harder than Arreola? Nonsense! Or maybe he was Pacquaioshly fast? No,he wasn`t! I didn`t see incredible defense either... Dempsey could move and bob well, but when he started to trade...

Another question: would Dempsey beat Tua?

OMG... Dempsey would have beaten Arreola because Arreola sucks and because Jack Dempsey is Jack Dempsey. Arreola is fat at 250, Dempsey was lean and muscular at his own weight.

You can't judge the power of a man based on his size or weight. The biggest punchers in history were all below 220 at their best : Shavers (around 210), Marciano (around 185), Tyson (around 218), Dempsey, Louis (around 212), Foreman (around 218). And no, Arreola doesn't have a granite chin. He was dropped hard in the past by Walker. I don't think Dempsey would beat Tua, but there is no doubt Tua knocks Arreola out cold. Tua is actually a good fighter, he has proven himself. Arreola failed.

I was thinking about Holyfield. I think all those losses should count more against him.

If Holyfield's losses (something like 7 of which came after the age of 38 or 39 when he was well past his best) should Ray Robinson's 19 losses (again, most of which came when he was done as a fighter) count against him?

Great list Cliff, I love when you do this type of lists...

Personally I would have Lennox Lewis at #6 and move everybody ahead of him down a spot. But, that is my opinion.

If I may...

Holy has had 54 total fights. He lost almost 19% of his fights.

RR has had 198 fights. He lost almost 10% of his fights.

You see, even though RR and Holyfield both fought the best of their era and both fought for way too long, we can see Holyfield has a lot more losses.

Anyway, losses always count against you, but less if you're over the hill...

Great list. It's especially gratifying because the Klitschkos are nowhere to be seen.

As it should be.

Nice to see some historical perspective put them in their rightful place...nothing frustrates me more than seeing young whippersnappers running around these foroms worshipping the Klits because they are heavyweights, while at the same time they dismiss someome like Pacquiao because he is a "pipsqueak."
