Basically. I really don't care if their motive is to get paid (duh!). If it betters the sport, I'm all for it. And their success rate - compared to the success rate in boxing - is so far apart it's ridiculous. When's the last time we caught someone on EPO?

cant u guys read? why u all speculating when all this is well documented and being reported everywhere they said it clearly "Stiff penalties await any athlete whose samples tests positive for any banned substance.A two year suspension is handed down, along with immediate cancellation of of the event should either fighter (or both) test positive". Now thats pretty clear to me

Anyone else find it ironic that there's only going to be 6 weeks of testing for this fight? Considering Mayweather was ranting on how some PED's only take a few hours/days to clear someone's system, why did they wait 2 weeks after training started to start testing?

Im amazed how some ppl see this as a negative. It doesn't hurt the sport and the Mosley/Floyd fight is still months away. It is the first time and we got to see how does it plays out. Of course it is gonna need some tweeking or it might not work at all. Floyd is no where near of fighting Pac and that is all you hear. You can only cross one bridge at a time

There's no year round testing (which is crucial for OSDT) and even the timing of the testing is a joke. 6/8 weeks of training camp will be tested, and both these guys have been training well before the fight was announced. Its a good step but its a half-assed dog and pony show step IMO.

Ur missing what this is. It's all a posture; a "look at how we do it" thing. The USADA results have enforceable repercussions in the Olympics. They have no authority in pro boxing. If Nevada wants to license a dirty May or Molsey right after May-Mosley, there is no legal authority stopping them (though they'd be SHAMED). USADA is NOT a government or law agency. They're a private company affiliated with WADA.

You make some good points even though i disagree with you but if they agreed to this in the contract willingly and were not forced to sign it e.g someone putting a gun to their head to agree to the terms it can and would be upheld in court if they tried to breach it by continue boxing even though banned. I don't think its a PR stunt at all, what i think happened is that he had a reasonable su****ion requested the tests and the way in which pac and his team came up with different lies and excuses after excuses which were debunked caused him to be more persistent in wanting the testing.

Its like Pac requesting that Floyd pay the 10 million per pound over the weight limit. As crazy as that penalty sounds the only credible reason why mayweather would back out and come up with ridiculous excuses for not agreeing to those terms is if he in fact was planning on coming in the fight overweight. If not then the stipulation as crazy as it sounds shouldn't be a problem. Thats just my logical way of looking at it, i understand that not everyone is going to think that way which is ok.

It is better than nothing, rather fail by trying than not doing nothing at all
