Anyone else find it ironic that there's only going to be 6 weeks of testing for this fight? Considering Mayweather was ranting on how some PED's only take a few hours/days to clear someone's system, why did they wait 2 weeks after training started to start testing?
well as I understand it it will enable a person to go through several cycles so random testing kind of inhibits that
say you are part of a random test intinerary. You literally will not know when your first or last test is. Not knowing that would you take the risk of cycling through a program when someone could knock on your door right after you started?
random testing in terms of the actual test isn't any better than structured in fact its probably the same testing
however. it is a much better deterrent than structured testing because of the unknown factor

My point was that the begining and the end of the testing period is structured. There's 6 weeks of random testing...6 out of 52
Its weird how only pac fans are calling the testing a joke and saying that the OC is a joke. Geee I wonder why?
I wish Mosley and Floyd the best.
I laugh at the posters that say pac will only test according to the regulations right now by the commission but yet he changes those regulations to fight Cotto at a catch weight?
ANother head scratcher
I dont know how you can defend that?
cant u guys read? why u all speculating when all this is well documented and being reported everywhere they said it clearly "Stiff penalties await any athlete whose samples tests positive for any banned substance.A two year suspension is handed down, along with immediate cancellation of of the event should either fighter (or both) test positive". Now thats pretty clear to me

Ur missing what this is. It's all a posture; a "look at how we do it" thing. The USADA results have enforceable repercussions in the Olympics. They have no authority in pro boxing. If Nevada wants to license a dirty May or Molsey right after May-Mosley, there is no legal authority stopping them (though they'd be SHAMED). USADA is NOT a government or law agency. They're a private company affiliated with WADA.
That is correct. Tygart said if a fighter tested positive for a banned substance that they would "be there" at the hearing to argue for their proposed 2 year ban. They have no jurisdiction over the State rules and regulations. All they can do is put in their opinion. The rest is up to the States Boxing Commision.

I dont get what you are saying
1. part of testing is to prevent a person from using PEDs while training for an event. Even if they say
"TESTING STARTS NOW!!!"
the participants still do not know when their first test will take place only that it will happen during the course of those 6 weeks
2. if not being able to undergo a program because they will not know when a test will happen isn't it logical to assume that the chances of them being able to utilize the effects of PEDs will be minimal during fight time simply because they will too far away from their last cycle period?
3. you do realize PEDs aren't meant to be some instaneous type of fix don't you? It isn't administered then BOOM big muscles appear. Each one has different effects but they all kind of share the same goal. To enhance performance through training. If you are unable to use those PEDs while training then you may not get the same results as say when you were doing them.

While the notion that they could enforce a suspension in boxing is funny, if USADA can get their piece of the pie, more power to 'em. They could make things better.
