Kinda of hard to compare PPV buys when comparing Mosley and Clottey as opponents....= apples and oranges
Kind of like the way people compared JMM and Cotto?

Towards the bottom part of the article....if true....not bad for for "1 dance partner".....but not good for negotiating with Floyd.
Pacquiao basically did have a dance partner....Cowboys Stadium.

EXACTLY.....never understood why comparing PPV #s was so important to fighters. People buy the fights on 2 things.....actual strength of the fight itself...or if properly promoted. Floyd's fights since the DLH fights have been promoted to a tee and his mouth is a HUGE HELP.

            When did Floyd fight Cotto?

I thought he retired rather than fight the guy the whole world was screaming for him to fight.

The Hatton numbers were almost the same, pretty good considering Ricky was no longer undefeated when Pac fought him.

The reason is because after Mosley, Pacquiao is the only money fight available for him and the only fight anyone even wants to see him take.

You know as well as i do that if floyd turns his back on his "money" image by fighting anyone else but pacquiao for peanuts then even the most faithful of his stans would revolt.

Pacquiao meanwhile still being the 140lb champion has decent fallback options in bradley/alexander and still has the decent option of going up to 154 for an 8th divisional title.
Crack top 5.....doubt it become the highest selling.

Pac has "decent" options money wise down at 140 and 154....but at 140...it would be more for cementing legacy than money. Suppsedly 1-2 fights is what he wants to do....Bradley and Valero are the only ones I see him fighting at 140 (unless Bradley does great against the bigger but VERY EASY to hit Abregu and fights Pac at 147). For sure Pac would still get his $10-$12 mili....and of course ANYONE not named Floyd/Shane would love to fight Pac for their biggest payday.

Still don't understand why Floyd took a vaca.....(sarcasm)

Just beat Hatton...was suppose to re-match DLH....other WWs out there for him were....#1 Cotto, #2 Margarito, #3 Mosley, #4 Clottey, #5 Berto

ALL 5 of them could easily lose a fight against Floyd (via UD)...but I guess he needed his hands to heal. So now since they all fought each other (cept for Berto) and Pac is now in the picture (coincidentally the smallest of the Fab 5) Floyd has come out after already seeing what each has to offer (PPV wise and ring wise), and now wants to "clean up". Could've/ should've done it then retired....= ATG status.

JMM wasn't undefeated when Floyd fought him. He still did better than Pac's number vs. Hatton.

I wonder if Floyd could've gotten 700K-900K buys against Clottey....I know for a fact he wouln't have gotten 50K+ to fill the stadium up...you need a following to fill up at the gate...
More than half the tickets were less than 100 bucks. The total capacity is eye catching but the gate isnt higher than what a sold out MGM grand produces when there is superstar there.

Pacquiao has a whole country and millions of people in the US supporting him and he still has trouble selling millions of PPVs without a dance partner.
