Assuming Pac does 800k with Clottey, which is a good number, and then compare that with the 1 plus million Mayweather Mosley will do and its no good for negotiations.
Both fighters diddn't have "name brand" recognition when they fought each other in Marquez's prime weight class. But in the end...YES...Floyd did great PPV #s against JMM.

Kinda of hard to compare PPV buys when comparing Mosley and Clottey as opponents....= apples and oranges

700K is a success? Anything less than Floyd's numbers against JMM is a disappointment.

            I don't know about that.

JMM is more marketable: "Almost beat Pacquiao twice," he's Mexican, was doing pretty well coming off KO wins.

No one knew who Clottey was, plus the promotion was horrible and there was no 24/7.

700k would be good considering the circumstances.

People on here always say Manny is the bigger draw and the current cash cow. He should be able to carry a fight on his own and sell over 1+ million.

JMM brought nothing to the table against Floyd. Floyd carried that fight in the ring and outside the ring.

Why? Marquez's claim to fame is "the man who beat Pacquiao twice"......

So who wouldn't want to see Marquez attempt what Manny did (climb two weight classes and fight a WW). Not proud to admit it....but I did.

Take into consideration that Manny's fans (including the tards) bought the majority of the PPVs and were in attendance at Dallas.....700K buys is pretty impressive when you look at it as "1 fighter brought that business in".

But Floyd won't look at it that way.... = glass 1/2 empty approach.

You can't compare the two fights...

JMM was considered #2 or 3 on a lot of lists when he fought Floyd, and Floyd was coming out of "retirement," they hyped this fight a lot, had a 24/7 and everything.

And as I said before, no one knew who Clottey was, and the promotion for the fight was almost nonexistent.

                    Not according to Floyd......

"He has a whole country behind him"........and maybe fighting on the weekend of Mexican Independance Day had dothing to do with it as well....

May-Mosley could break every ppv record in existence and Floyd will still have no choice but to accept 50-50 against Pacquiao.

The reason is because after Mosley, Pacquiao is the only money fight available for him and the only fight anyone even wants to see him take.

You know as well as i do that if floyd turns his back on his "money" image by fighting anyone else but pacquiao for peanuts then even the most faithful of his stans would revolt.

Pacquiao meanwhile still being the 140lb champion has decent fallback options in bradley/alexander and still has the decent option of going up to 154 for an 8th divisional title.
