are you saying you'd support the amateur system being used in the pros?
Just curious (i don't have any follow up slams waiting or anything)

Do you not count all those body shots that apparently had Clottey spitting up blood? Did you just decide nothing that Pac landed was meaningful? He landed more than 200 punches. He dominated Clottey to the point Clottey wouldn't even throw a f***ing punch. Why do so many of you look at punch percentage in a fight like this when it is meaningless?

If Clottey would let his hands go more often he gets KOed. Yeah he did some damage but Pac was all over him making him stay in his defensive shell. If it was a fist fight Clotteys face would be ripped off but thanks to the gloves he blocked alot of shots.

It isn't ever...EVER going to happen - but absolutely. Scoring blows are thrown with the weight of the shoulder and body behind them, landing - UNOBSTRUCTED - to a scoring target area on the body, with the scoring part of the glove. Punches that meet this criteria - but are landing while simultaneously commiting a foul (holding, etc) - are not counted. Pretty simple - it's worked for a loooooong time.

          Gloves - nope.
          Forearms - nope.
          Shoulders - nope.
          Elbows - nope.
          Shoe shine - nope.

Pro boxing is an entertainment sport - I know, news flash; and the entire framework between the ams and pros could not be more different. The scoring system/criteria alone would do wonders to move the sport back up, IMO. There are times when I watched Clottey go completely passive against the ropes, ducking behind his gloves and not even attempt to show an offense for upwards of 10-15 seconds, that I thought; "ya know, if this were an amateur fight - he would have had been RSC'd by now". But what do you think the chances are of a pro fight, of that magnitude getting stopped because the one of the fighters, who isn't getting hurt, per se...but clearly doesn't want to fight? Zip, zero, nada.

Pac won every round. He won the fight, the boxing match, the event, the war of wills, and whatever else you wanna make up.

Clottey took a bunch of body shots. Overall, Pac outlanded Clottey at a count of 246-108 or 138 total punches. So even though Clottey landed at a higher overall percentage than Pac, Clottey was hit by Pac more than twice the amount that he himself landed on Pac.

Pac punches landed/Clottey's punches landed = 246/108 = 2.28 or 228% of what Clottey landed!!!

                Total Punches

                Power Punches- 232 / 682, 34%

                Clottey:

                Total Punches- 108 / 399, 27%
                Jabs- 26 / 162, 16%
                Power Punches- 82 / 237, 35%

if you look at the punchstats yea but if you watch the fight it doesn't look like manny was landin anything not even the body shots only when he would throw about 8 punches up top than shoot a quick body shot to the abs and that was only about 4 times per round.punchstats always give manny to much credit look at the hatton fight there was no way manny landed 77 punches in the 2 rounds of that fight
