It doesn't make sense, but he wanted to prove he was the best at Light heavy, not at heavyweight. And he had no intentions of staying at heavyweight, so he went down to fight Tarver. It was close, so he rematched, and got caught. -
If Jones hadn`t gone up to heavyweight he`d have had an easier time with Tarver. Increasing in weight, then dropping down like he did was the cause of his decline. At his age his body couldn`t take it!Originally posted by BadMagickIt doesn't make sense, but he wanted to prove he was the best at Light heavy, not at heavyweight. I know that's why it happened. It was a bad move going back to light heavy that fast to fight Tarver. Another six months and he might have beaten Tarver more convincingly.Originally posted by KimmyIf Jones hadn`t gone up to heavyweight he`d have had an easier time with Tarver. I think he was having a bit of an easier time with the weight in the second, and he smacked Tarver around pretty good in the first, then he just got caught.Comment
