without a doubt!! the guy has a losers mentality... it seemed as if his strategy was try not to lose like others have to pacquiao. as if he'd pride himself over the fact that he survived 12 rounds with pac..

not only that but hasn't clottey learned anything from previous fights and why he hasn't crossed over to the ppv star kind of level yet?? he's been almost there yet not quite, due to his lack of punch throwing when he needs to. he has all the tools to be a great champion but apparently he doesn't have a brain. it doesn't take a genius to realize you have to throw more to win fights, specially against a fighter like pacquiao whose work rate is just insanely active. i don't even feel bad for clottey.. and i liked the guy a lot but i just don't like losers .. specially those who don't leanr from past experiences.

clottey gave last night one of the worst and most boring performances i've seen in a while, it was pathetic. yet again, it was pacquiao who forced part of that due to his relentless, continous attack but clottey shouldve taken chances and given fans a fight. thankfully, we have pacquiao who always does his part.

but clottey sucks and deserves to be where he's at right now.

It takes a lot of heart and balls to step in a ring with Manny knowing the guy is going to try to take your head off.

No, I still respect him for going 12 rounds with Manny and not backing down. I don't like his style at all.

I perhaps overrated him a little bit but last night he didnt do anything unusual. I still dont like his style. You dont beat elite fighters with that style.

I agree with your premise but I do think he was backing down by not trying to fight back more often.

I knew he would lose, and it was exactly how I though. However, he should have pulled an Oscar right?

Yes, I did lose respect for him as a fighter. I understand what Clottey is as a fighter but I also look at it under what circumstances the fight was fought at. He fought scared and fought not to win and I just can't respect that. What makes it worse is that this was his one shining moment and he didn't take full advantage of it. No matter what walk of life or career you do a mans character is judged when things are rough and when you have a good opportunity you have to take advantage and give your best effort. Clottey failed badly in my eyes.

cant blame the guy. andre berto said it best on his twitter: clottey was just a huge pac fan who wanted to step in a ring with his idol. he got his wish and some moolah along the way. at least he didn't quit like a chicken (dlh).
