Also Also so far who hasn't realized that they lost and accepted defeat against pacquiao since Marquez? Morales did twice, Barerra did, Oscar did, Hatton got ktfo before he could, Cotto did, and while Clottey tried, his style was for Pacquiao turtle shell low output high accuracy fighters always lose to insanely high work rate fighters. It was like Williams vs Wright, but not as bad...
cotto ran for half of the fight. the 1st half, he tried to punish pac and got caught with bombs. at least he tried everything he could to stop him before deciding to run for his life

didn't they have the key to beating pacquiao? wasn't clottey's trainer encouraging him to mix it up a bit more? wasn't clottey's response "NO"??

he didn't try to win a single round. he knew he was losing every one of them and didn't try anything to change that. he was scare and was more than happy to give away every round

Juan Manuel Marquez would be willing to go out on his shield unlike Cotto and Barrera did regardless of the weight.

He's a rabid Cotto hater. He's trying to discredit Cotto. He always does. That's his point

Street and Iceta act like Cotto fans think he's the greatest thing of all time. Of course there are stans for Cotto but most of us are down to Earth and know where our fighter stands.

Oh, my god. This **** deserves a reward. The first Puerto Rican to admit this. I feel like I found a treasure case by reading this post.

He was too fast, and just threw way too damn much. The windows for countering were not there, and Clottey is a counterpuncher, while Cotto leads. Anyways Pacquiao is an ATG and his WW run has been remarkable.

Homie I have no idea why you guys act as if I hate Cotto, I don't I was a fan of his until the margarito fight. I also never once said you guys think he is the greatest of all times, since he isn't even a HOFer yet.

I just grew weary of the way Cotto would go from fighting to running out the clock, that's it.

But usually when your corner is begging you to throw more punches and that you're losing every round, there is SOME sort of desperation. Clottey had zero sense of urgency which implies, to me at least, that he had accepted defeat and was content going the distance.
once i saw him basically lay down in the cotto fight, i knew manny would be a nightmare for him.

the only chance clottey had was to hurt manny and KO him, b/c he was gonna get "outworked" all night. being that clottey is not a big puncher, i really didn't see him hurting manny.

i thought clottey fought like clottey, and more than anything, it was manny's style that limited clottey. ppl are saying clottey quit, or just tried to survive, but lets give manny more credit.....

he knew the ONLY way clottey would be effective, was when he'd leave openings for clottey to retaliate. so, manny just threw punches all night, and didn't allow clottey too many opportunites.

last night there was not only a difference in class, there was a difference in training, strategy, and prepwork. it showed.

Lol...see what i mean? He loved that. And Street is trying to get the attention away from the fact that Clottey was like a woman last night, hiding in his clamshell, afraid to take a shot in the face. He was an embarresment to the sport of boxing. I'll never watch another Clottey fight again.

What a coward and a dissapointment. Pac fought great and Clottey didn't even try to win. He just wanted to get through to the last round. Like was said before in a thread, at least Cotto tried. Anybody Pac's size that opens up and tries is going to get hit, and hit hard.

Clottey was afraid to get hit! Boxers are not supposed to be afraid to take a shot in the face. They are expected to try to win the fight by boxing and throwing punches. They are expected to protect themselves at all times. But C'mon...I fell asleep around the 7-8 round. Woke and and Pac won. Even the undercard ******.
