In my humble opinions...Pacquiao's special work out and diet specifically for gaining weight and while adding speed and power shows that one CAN. Again that is a keyword: "CAN".

Just gaining weight without adjusting your workout and special protein diet will almost certainly result in a failure and thus FREDDIE's and ARIZA's regimen to quicken him, make him faster, make his stamina go up while consuming large amounts of proteins and carbs (like Olympian Michael Phelps) shows the future of the sport.

That it can be scientific....and obviously lots of hard work.

So we can't just blatantly make a blanket statement....all of the above has to be met and done inorder to gain speed (or retain), gain quickness, strength and stamina that is proportion to one's body.

Ariza's usage of the JEET KUNE DO diet and regimen makes me more a believer as I myself was also a former JKD practitioner (albeit now into kali and tai chi...)

Many people who are uninformed would readily accuse the convenient: HE IS TAKING PEDs, HGHs, STEROIDs and then some.

And so my advice is to learn the facts first. Educate oneself first. Try it before you make blatant statements.

This is not one formula that works, everybody is different but at the most part fighting bigger foes makes it even more difficult to gauge
Exactly. That is why I didn't make a blanket statement and putting up only what is the GENERALLY agreed "science" behind the scenes.

No you don't. You're just fighting bigger men who'll have greater punch resistance.

I misprint the last line and meant there instead of this, Pac could just have simply found his groove as a boxer. Look at Hasagawa that is apparent that he has done as well

so for most parts, is it safe to say that a fighter like Pacquiao can carry power and speed with the right work rate? or there is no possibility at all and has to be taking PED to do it?

You do know that pacquaio has been weighing at 147 at fight night for the past 5 years right. He is now fighting in his walk-around weight instead of draining himself and blow up 20 pounds at fight night. That is the reason why his speed are still almost the same. The only difference is the official weight, but his fight night weight has been the same. Also you failed that pacquaio in the lower weight had just jab jab straight left, since then he developed far more punches and his combo are far more unpredictable now. So if he been weighting at 147 at fight night for the past 5 years and is a known gym rat and has big calves and large fist(ingredient of a great puncher). The difference between now and back then is that pacquaio isn't draining 20 pounds and then blow up to welterweight at 130. So its very understandable for him to keep his speed. And it ain't like he got one punch knock power at 147 and knocking people out like what Tito did. Really the only fighter he knocked the **** out cold is Hatton. Cotto, and oscar got stopped because of taking too much punishment while they were obviously running out of gas to defend themselves.

It is relative. Lets say a guy at 140lbs has the power to KO other 140lber's with one shot.

Lets say he goes upto 168lbs. He has more power now on a sheer PSI (pounds per square inch) but he no longer has the power to KO Super MiddleWeights.

Its a fine line. I wrestled and the exact same theory is put into reverse. Although I would feel overall weaker at weight's I had a bigger margin of strength over my opponents when I cut weight to a certain point.

maybe Arthur Abraham should gain 50lbs so he could become the new Tyson...
