HOF for sure, now if he wins his next two and takes pavliks belt like hes plannin, hes also said hes willing to make his last fight a rematch with pavlik to give him a chance to get the belt back if he were to win it....after all this then id say yah on the ATG.

I don't really know if I even would let Winky in the HOF even though he definitely is a border line case. I mean, yeah the Mosley wins were great and all but Mosley's best weight is not 154. I know the Vargas fight probably should've been rewarded to him, but the Castillo-Mayweather fight shoudl've gone to Castillo and I don't consider Castillo a HOFer. The fact that Trinidad had already been taken apart by Hopkins should put that win in a little perspective as well even though both Tito and Winky were naturally the same size.

Basically, Winky came up short against the very best fighters he fought. Lost to Julio Ceaser Vasquez by a wide margin, got shut out by Paul Williams, lost to Hopkins, bottled the Taylor fight which I would've scored as a win for him if he won the twelfth round which I guess you could make a case that it was an even round, but the fact that Winky played keep away would cause me to give it to Taylor if I was a judge.

Isn't ATG the same as Both because you would be considered a HOF wouldn't ya?

Does any fighter deserve credit for beating any fighter who has a previous loss on his record? I don't understand your point.

For sure HOF but not ATG in my estimation.....some key losses really hurt his chances for potential ATG status in addition to him not having been in any really memorable fights that make ppl say WOW!

I'm gonna have to disagree on this one. I think the biggest "myths" in boxing is that Winky Wright is a Hall of Fame fighter. I give him credit for beating Mosley twice and Felix Trinidad, but outside of that he has no other great wins on his resume. You can't just beat a great fighter and get into the Hall. If that's the case why not put Tarver in there. After all beating Roy twice>>Beating Shane twice.

Not just that, but his 3 biggest wins were against career WW's Quartey, Trinindad, and Mosley. I can't give him credit for the Quartey win because Ike was 3-3 above his career weight and two of his wins were against Journeymen.

Sorry but he had his opportunities but kept coming up short. Against Vargas, Taylor and B-hop and time he fought a guy equal in size he basically lost. So no....Winky isn't a hall of famer and not even an ATG.

HOF for sure. To bad he was robbed against Vargas and should've won against Taylor. Who was coming off the 2 wins over Hopkins. Those wins would probably would make him ATG material along with the resume he has now

I think he is a borderline HOF'er. He has a case to be in. But, if he didn't get in I wouldn't say is a shame either. IMO is pretty close...

However, he is not even close to an ATG IMO.
