Heart wasn't the problem. It was complacency. Lewis came back and avenged his defeats like a true warrior. He showed his heart.

Lewis worked opponents out. He could box you or knock you out. 3 fights vs Frazier, Lewis wins at least twice. 3 fights vs Foreman, Lewis wins at least twice.

To the Vitali fan, I see you have Vitali in your sig and you're obviously a fan. I rate Vitali very highly. He's a very accomplished boxer and would have given most of the greats a run for their money. But Vitali lost in his a prime to a man who was past his. That man was Lennox Lewis.
He also showed his balls by NOT giving Vitali a rematch despite that fight actually being controversial, which wasn't the case for Rahman and McCall since those fights saw Lummox KTFO.

Im sure Vitali was preparing for a fight too. Difference being that Lennox had been out over a year and was clearly just fighting for money.

Lewis decimated Ruddock in 2 rounds.
Tyson was far more aged then Lewis was fact. It reminds of Jones vs Hopkins now, hopkins is by far in the better shape where Jones as aged alot faster. Lewis never wanted to step foot in the ring with prime Mike because he was far to dangerous. Although a smart move avoiding Mike for a long time he handpicked at the right time.

He was indeed preparing. But for an undercard fight. Not a championship fight against the baddest man on the planet. Big difference.

Tyson paid millions of dollars in step aside money not to fight Lennox.

Lennox was also preparing for a different opponent, Kirk Johnson i believe, who was a far lesser fighter. Lennox looked more like the fattest man on the planet that night and the difference in motivation for each fighter was big.

Lewis did retire a bit early for a guy who peaked in his early/mid 30's. Considering that he was a year younger than Vitali is now. Overall though a very good HW that is usually considered a top 10 ATG HW, but not fighting a prime Tyson, Holyfield or Rid**** Bowe hurts him a bit.

                  Fattest man on the planet?

                  Alright, where's my boots?

Lewis would have beaten a prime Tyson in my opinion.

Tyson never beat anyone like Lewis in his prime. Once he started facing quality big men like Tucker, Ruddock and Douglas, he struggled.

People say 'what if what if' Tyson didn't go to jail. What may well have happened is that either Lewis or Bowe would have knocked him out.

A cuts stoppage when behind on points is controversial per definition. The fair thing to do was to give an immidiate rematch like lummox actually promised.

                      He didn't.
