They were, but it took a dramatic drop in performance after the drop..

His legs never recovered from that drop in weight though... he couldn't move the way he used to, or get away the way he used to be able to.

        You know bro?
I understand that. But, I again he was good enough to win the first fight. And, it was a hard fight to win. I just can't buy that excuse for that rematch. I always felt if that was the case he would of lost the first fight as well... You know what I am saying?

He got KTFO in back to back fights. Had his aura of invincibility stripped. Mentally Roy was done.

The difference in the rematch wasn't Jones. It was Tarver.

I agree....Eric clearly won going away!!.....Tarver got his ass whooped but I won't clown him because he DID stop Eric in the rematch....****, Roy couldn't stop Eric or land like Tarver did.

Bro, I am not talking about you...

I was saying it as in general. A lot of people make that dropped down weight excuse for Roy.

Well it definitely had to do with his performance in the first fight.

Roy didnt have the legs to move in the first fight.

He was tired by round 5.

And it wasnt like Tarver was doing a Calzaghe on him, throwing 1000 punches.. they were boxing in the center of the ring.. the only time Tarver flurried on him is when Roy didnt have the energy to circle and just went back to the ropes. His legs were gone.

In the rematch he just got caught... simple as.
