So he gave more money than he ever made in his whole career because he was being treated as if he lost the fight? Sounds like Mayweather's pride and ego got in the way of a record payday. Sounds just like Pac. Only dumber.Comment

Corley was a damn good B rated fighter and a fast southpaw at that. Try telling Cotto that night that Corley was B rated. The ref could've stopped that fight cause Corley came seconds from derailing the dream for Cotto. If Mayweather struggled with the champ@135 why wouldn't a strong, young KO artist@140 accept his challenge? Although Cotto did get better @147 he still was predictable and fought with too much bravado to beat Floyd. Floyd would've outthought him and outslicked him all night. That was Cotto downfall, his bravado.Comment

LMOA If I did not watch boxing and just listen to how you explain mayweather I would think mayweather was untouchable(which is not the case).I'm not tryin to say he would have beat mayweather but he would have touch may.But please stop acting like may is super man or somethingComment

He would've fought Margarito for 8 million, but he wanted at least 10 million guaranteed for either Hatton or Cotto.
Arum promised him something like 7 million for Hatton and Cotto each. He made around 7 or 8 against Baldo IIRC. The point being, it wasn't that much more money for two fighters that would have been tougher than Baldo, and bigger draws, especially with a potential fight with Oscar looming around the cornerLast edited by Biolink; 03-06-2010, 07:01 PM.Comment

Look at the 1st few words of the post, mayne. The need for rest is what push Floyd into not excepting the rematch, the treatment he was getting from ODH is what pushed him over the edge in his discision to retire.Comment

Can't be mad at none of Floyd's decisions because 50 mill+ in 2 fights since coming back is a very good look. Floyd hasn't lost a step since he left physically nor status wise.Comment

Come on dude Floyd got 8 mill for Baldi and 20+ for Oscar. The Oscar fight was the PPV torch passer. After the Mosley fight there should've been a rematch because that was a close fight. Bottom line is no one can argue with Floyd's opponent selections because they all were very meaningful and very lucrative. It does take two willing fighters to make a fight happen that's why the Cotto fight like the the Manny fight didnt happen because someone didnt want it and I aint never seen Floyd turn down big money for less money.Comment

I wouldn't say PBF is untouchable but barely touchable yes. Im saying Cheato would've got smoked/ I don't even know why you or anyone would even bring up Cheato's name in here. I'm a real boxing fan and I know this aint the most competitive time in boxing. PBF is just light years above the fighters of his era. it's not like we got a Ray Leonard, Hearns, Duran, Pryor, etc. Me and any other real boxing fan know that but right now these dudes can't F with Floyd.Comment
