Sure I can compare. The only difference is Floyd would've moved more and would have never tired but he would've broke his hands on Margarito's slow ass. Margarito was always overrated. Just a guy that drained himself to make 147 so he can have an advantage over smaller fighters and little did we know......... Floyd would touched Margarito any and every time he wanted to. Margarito may be big but he aint know Castillo and Castillo caught Floyd transitioning. I view it as a fight Floyd had to take to make the move up in weight successful but Floyd has grown tremendously since his light-wt days.
The point is he would have had too keep hitting marga's that's part of his gameplan he would have tired of moving away and have to send hard punches to margas head.Just like pwill did when pwill got hurt it was more cause he was tired then anything.Sorry but marga's would have giving him a hard time
I see a stoppage too. Shane will get touched more than ever in this fight. He has too much pride to go out on his back but the towel or the ref is a high possibility.
I'll take that bet.so you saying mosley will be stop by May right?
Oh of course it was a smart move to fight oscar and is a big reason why money is as popular as he is now.But when Cotto beat Moses and May beat Hatton that's when they was about to fight and money retired that's all i was tryin to say.
I feel you homie. You right they should've met after Hatton, I cant deny that. But Floyd does not like to do business with Bob, because it's always a hassle. I can understand him side stepping Cotto, cause he did try to catch Cotto after he came up from LW, but Bob wasnt having that. Bob said Cotto wasn't ready.
i meant more lucrative in the sense that before mosley and after margo was the best time to fight cotto as cotto was riding high on a rollercoaster of hype.
in terms of meaningfulness... it had great welterweight significance. floyd's fight with dlh was a dip at 154 (not floyd's divisions) and floyd's fight with hatton was simply to tie up loose ends from 140 lbs.
in conclusion: floyd could've gotten the most money out of a cotto fight before mosley and after margo and it would have had real significance at welterweight.
it takes to two tango?
of course not, which is why floyd needed to fight cotto before the margo fight and after the mosley fight.
also a decent payday for floyd and a good fight to retire on (better than that fight with baldomir)
c'mon, mosley works for oscar and oscar got first dibs.
Come on dude Floyd got 8 mill for Baldi and 20+ for Oscar. The Oscar fight was the PPV torch passer. After the Mosley fight there should've been a rematch because that was a close fight. Bottom line is no one can argue with Floyd's opponent selections because they all were very meaningful and very lucrative. It does take two willing fighters to make a fight happen that's why the Cotto fight like the the Manny fight didnt happen because someone didnt want it and I aint never seen Floyd turn down big money for less money.
Go back and watch the Cotto/Corley fight then come back and see me. Floyd chose Oscar and Hatton which were far more lucrative and meaningful fights than a Cotto fight and again Bob Arum stopped the Cotto fight from happening. Beating Cotto now wouldn't mean much for Floyd. A great payday and a career ender for Cotto. Mosley should've taken the fight in 2006 instead of saying "leave me alone and go pick on Margarito".
The point is he would have had too keep hitting marga's that's part of his gameplan he would have tired of moving away and have to send hard punches to margas head.Just like pwill did when pwill got hurt it was more cause he was tired then anything.Sorry but marga's would have giving him a hard time
You talk like Floyd is an amateur that doesnt know how to pace himself. Margarito would've quit against Floyd or got TKO'd. How much punishment do you think Margarito can take especially when he's swinging at air. Unlike Cotto PBF would not be trading with Margarito.
