    get with the times...

Every fighter has the right to **** talk and get in their oppenet faces, especially when they are the ones getting in the ring and have to answer for the **** they spoke about.
Ali trash-talked in a colorful manner. Even when he was close to his fighters at press-conf's, he did it in a playful manner. He wasn't acting as if he was George Foreman or Joe Frazier. He talked trash, displayed his footwork via the shuffle and that was that.

Floyd is getting up in opponents faces like he is about to Mike Tyson them, when we all end up getting a Pernell Whitaker treatment on fight night.

But not while he is in his face. He is not tough guy like that and he doesn't fight like that. He doesn't have to and shouldn't have to fight like that to prove himself to some keyboard warriors either. That's not what I'm saying.

But neither should he pretend to be one of the tough come forward fighters, and be all confrontational. The Mayorga's, Miranda's, Vargas's, Trinidad's, Tyson's, hell even Cotto who does know hot to box are entitled to this for obvious reasons. Their fighting characteristics reflect that. Floyd's don't.
he's a professional FIGHTER.....meaning he fights ppl for a living, and is the highest paid FIGHTER in the game. he fights ppl, and he gets paid b/c he's good at what he does. how can you sit here and say he's not a "tough guy?"

fighters by definition alone, are tough guys.....even the ones that get their ass beat continually.

        According to Cupocity Logic...

Only Blacks should be able to listen and sing RAP MUSIC. Because they create it and it reflex's their culture.

Only Mexicans should be able to wear Sombrero's for the same logic.

Only Brawlers and aggressive fighters should be able to get in people's faces..

My dude the world just doesnt operate that way.

        Thanks for reading

I wouldn't call it brawling. Yes he can be in front of an opponent in certain times, and use his shoulder to pick off their shots. I use this same arguement everytime someone calls Floyd a runner because that's not what he is.

But he isn't a brawler either. He didn't brawl with Hatton, he held just as much as Hatton up close, and his counter shot is what did Hatton in at the end of the fight.

Brawling by definition is lesser skilled guys like RickY Hatton, Rocky Marciano, who are willing to take a shot to give a shot. Floyd is not that.

floyd's just trying to sell his fights. floyd tried being respectful at 130 lbs, but he wasn't going no where with that.

That's a weak ass analogy and you know it. You're welcome.

You're trying to imply something that I haven't said. I didn't say he isn't tough nor did I disrespect pure boxers. I love pure boxers.

I simply said that it doesn't reflect his characteristics inside of the ring. If he is getting up in an oppnents face that close and talk loud, he should also be that way in the ring, and he isn't. And that's ok. Just don't pretend to be something you're not outside of the squared circle, it doesn't look real and he isn't selling the fight to anybody that way besides making people/fans wish that Mosley would punch him.

When I see Trinidad and Vargas up in each others face, i'm buying it as legitimate. But we're running in circles here and you're trying to paint a different picture here as if i'm disrespecting professional prize fighters, which i'm not.

This is perfectly legitimate criticism whether you see it or not.

You quoted me out of context. I said he is not a tough guy like that.

It's different from me saying that he isn't tough period. What did I say in my original post (I.E. I'm not one of those "Mayweather is a runner chicken" type boxing fans). I'm not! Maybe I should be more careful with my choice words, so there are no misunderstandings.

Maybe I should say he isn't a Rough & Tough style type fighter like that.
