i'm not a massive lewis fan but i do realize the guy had a lot of skills, he wasn't just a jabber, he was a puncher boxer, he could jab he could move counterpunch, he had a very good uppercut which was his best punch, and most of all he was an athlete, he moved well for a guy his size, also this ''glass chin'' thing is rubbish, he was caught with a blind punch by oliver McCall, and he didn't take the Rahman fight seriously, lewis took a few good punches in his career without being knocked out

thank you , very much! To hear all the negative talk about him and his lack of skills is just nonsense. Those 'lack of skills' won him a gold medal in the Olympics, and they have high standards. This supposedly "shot" Tyson was heavily favored to beat Lewis, yet he got ko'ed instead. It's a shame when a fighter gets caught with just the right punch and goes down he's automatically labeled with a 'glass chin'..and it's coming from the guy that posted just yesterday ?? that ANY fighter can get ko'ed if hit with just the right punch, etc. I guess that rule only applies to Ruiz though

Guys... Just ignore any posts from "The Pretender". He's simply trying to get a rise out of people.

There's no point in arguing with him, coz' he'll just say ****** things that'll annoy you... He's best off IGNORED.

All the great fighters of the 1980s and early 1990s were retired or shot, and when the only really promising fighter in Vitali began to come into the seen, Lewis was quick to retire after a controversial stoppage where Vitali was beating Lewis.

Lewis' legacy is rightfully questioned because he is unproven.

You do realize that the Tyson fight with Lewis happened many, many yr's before the fight with Williams, right? IF Tyson was so shot then, it's amazing he's even walking now!
Do you remember Ruiz's fight with Tua? Sure you do, cause when you were recently reminded of it, YOU were the one that posted tha ANY fighter can get ko'ed if hit just right, etc. But you label Lewis with a 'glass jaw'...thats a double standard.
Atleast, ATLEAST Lewis avenged both ko's, while Ruiz never got back in with tua

Tracylee... I think that if the pretender keeps on going the way he's going, he'll end up getting banned from boxingscene anyway.

Honestly man, I doubt it. He's supporting his favorite fighter..no matter how outrageously rediculous some of his posts about Ruiz are, he's still not insulting others quite as badly as some of the other posters have, and they didnt get banned. I just dont see Rick banning him for worshipping Ruiz. Some of the things I've read in the yr. I've been here have been very bad, and all those people are still around.

thats very true, he makes some silly comments, and trys to be a wind up merchant, but there's nothing really offensive in his posts, i've seen a lot worse in this forum, and those guys are still around, the pretender is pretty funny sometimes anyway

Exactly! He may be a bit delusional, but he's not really offensive about it. (God help him...he'll come around evuentally! )

I don't deny that Lewis got skills, but a legend? No way! Before he retired and was undisputed champ the conventional wisdom among most boxing publications was: so what? Lewis ruling the division among the weakest selection of contenders seen in 30 years! How convenient he packs up his bags and leaves town just when Vitali gave him his hardest fight and just entering his prime? Now we will never know if Lewis was truly a great among greats or just a great among bums...because he ducked his biggest challenge to settle what was widely seen as a controversial stoppage!
