So who'll say Chambers is a bum if Wlad beats him?

I refuse to use the word "bum" when discussing any boxer but,
Chambers is more deserving than many recent challengers for the belt holders. But this fight has mis-match in the subtitle just the same. The fighter that presents a threat to Wladimir is against a puncher with endurance. Chambers presents no such threat. Wladimir in my opinion will get credit for another easy title defense but not much more.Comment

So, what are you saying, that Wlad should go out of his way to fight punchers even if they are not deserving? Sorry but that makes no sense at all, if guys like Tua, Briggs, Peter and other big punchers are good enough to fight Wlad, they should have no trouble working their way up as Chambers did.I refuse to use the word "bum" when discussing any boxer but,

I dont like either Klit and I still think chambers is a bumAfter every Klitschko fight it's the same, every opponent that before the fight had a chance to win, suddenly becomes a bum who would get KOd by "Insert name of the next guy in line here". So, will you give props to Wlad if he beats Chambers, or will you call him just another bum?
before and after the fight
but sadly that is the HW division
its not the Klits fault their division sucksComment

Yeah, but he didn't get knocked out in the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, or 5th, like most were predicting either.
Vitali had to run (literally) a few times to escape an Arreola that was closing in on him against the ropes.
Vitali gets credit from me for Arreola though. Arreola's a better fighter than people give him credit for (if he wasn't grossly fat, it wouldn't be deserved). If we go down the list of quality opponents the Klits have beaten, it wouldn't be too long.Comment

I'm not saying Wlad should go out of way to fight punchers that are not deserving, I'm saying Wlad is matched carefully so punchers are not on the menu! So, what are you saying, that Wlad should go out of his way to fight punchers even if they are not deserving? It's not his fault and Wlad is a deserving champion. But his camp(Steward etc) are wise in the fact they match him according to his strengths and weaknesses. What camp doesn't do this in boxing these days? If guys like Peter and even Arreola are undeserving, why are they steered towards Vitali for title fights?
The heavyweight champions are not exclusive in this, it is a product of the times. Most fighters today are "matched wisely" Promoters, investors and managers protect their investment. I don't blame Wlad, I blame the muliple titles and bogus(and profitible) sanctioning bodies for making so easy.Comment

Yeah, he ran while beating Arreola's face to a pulp.Yeah, but he didn't get knocked out in the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, or 5th, like most were predicting either.

World champions beat by the Klits (current, past or future):
Wlad: Chagaev, Rahman, Ibragimov, Brewster, Byrd x2, Peter, Mercer
Vitali: Gomez, Peter, Sanders, Hide
Plus all the top challengers at the time they've defeated, so yeah...
I give credit to Arreola, he came to fight and tried his best, unlike some others we know.Last edited by Pirao; 03-02-2010, 04:46 PM.Comment
