too much hate for MMA in this forum. the same ignorance that boxing haters have of boxing is the same ignorance that you guys are displaying for mma. just because it doesn't look as flashy as stand up, grappling is every bit as technical as boxing.

While I dont like the fact that everyone calls it MMGAY because I do respect and appreciate the sport of Mixed Martial Arts, I too am a boxer and would like to see a fellow boxer have success in the MMA world.. He's got a ways to go when it comes to training submissions and ground fighting but if he can just get the basics down and get decent at everything else, I think he will go far... His striking will be so advanced and I dont see why alotta people think hes gonna be overwhelmed with the dude hes fighting, if he can connect with one or two clean shots the guy hes fighting is gonna be on the floor, and once that happens mayorga will pounce on him like a Lion on its prey, the guys just an animal! So basically yeah, id like to see Mayorga do very well in MMA because itd prove furthermore that boxing is the most superior martial art out of the rest!

Thats the most ridiculous thing you couldve ever said dude, I have to rip you now, you set yourself up... To compare any MMA fighters boxing ability to that of a former UNDISPUTED CHAMPION Mayorga is down right ******ed! Nobody thats ever been in MMA has the boxing skills to make it in pro boxing, or have a successful pro boxing career. Anderson Silva would be the only one I make an acception for, or Marcus Davis, simply because they were pro boxers, but Silva was only 1-1 lost to a nobody, and Marcus Davis wasnt very good either! Ray Mercer is the only MMA fighter who could be successful in pro boxing... Because he already was, and he went to MMA after boxing because he was done in the boxing ring... Mayorga will knock Thomas clean out once he connects with a clean hook... Point is, the MMA world still has yet to see boxing skills like Mayorga's, and Ray Mercer doesnt count because it was long after he was out of his prime...

Silva has clearly learned alot since then and is very skilled, there is no doubt he could be very competitive with many good CWs if he was to start boxing exclusively.

Not at all, Mayorgas going to beat him, Ive seen Din Thomas fight, hes not a bad MMA fighter at all, but with Mayorgas boxing skill and the gloves they use, you gotta agree thomas will be in a world of pain once he feels one of Mayorga's big punches. And im not saying Silva couldnt be competitive if he started boxing exclusively, but he didnt before, and thats more than likely why he does MMA instead, if he could be one of the top fighters in boxing, he would be boxing instead, hed be making alot more money for big fights than he would in MMA

Lol. Idk about all that now Ricardo. 2 be real though, I think he can do some damage in the octagon. His style of fighting might work in MMA. He has 2 develop a decent grappling, ground & submission game. I doubt Roy & Floyd were serious about doing MMA. They are great boxers but I don't see much cojones in those 2. Mayorga was far from the best boxer around but he has some big cojones.

To where he originated from to be the lineal champion of the storied welterweight division,

I don't have a problem if he says he conquered boxing.

You do have a point, but not all those guys do **** cuz they love to do it, 90% of them do it because of the MONEY. Anderson definitely has one of the biggest hearts in MMA so I guess he could be doing it for the love of the game, but garauntee if he ever saw one of boxings big paydays hed never go back to MMA...
