I sorta agree. You can blame the NSAC for allowing a fight like Ali/Holmes to happen when the signs of Parkinsons were clear as day already. That was shameful. In this case, they're saying Roy is healthy and fit to fight, just not at the elite level we're used to seeing him at. No one wants to see him get seriously hurt, but at the same time it's no one's job (except maybe his family's) to tell a grown man who's fought for a living his entire life that he can't step into the ring because he's not good enough. Like someone quoted Larry Merchant saying, it's their choice to fight, it's your choice whether to watch or not.Roy should have retired a while ago. Too bad for him. he can still fight, its just that his chin is no longer there. Its nothing like an older Ali, who already had mild Parkinson by the time he fought Leon Spinks.
Roy is a grown ass man, and people need to stop treating him as if he is a ****** man.Comment

With Tarver he got knocked down, and he got back up.
Out of it or not, he got back up.
With Green, he got knocked down, and he got back up.
Out of it or not, he got back up.
And his ability to avoid punches isn't the same? Margarito made a living off taking 1 to land 2. Obviously Marg has a good chin, but that isn't the point. Just because he isn't the ELITE fighter he once was doesn't mean he shouldn't be in the ring anymore. Especially fighting someone who is 45 1/2 years old.Comment

If he were to fight Chad Dawson.. yeah, then I would.
I don't think Roy can fight at the elite level.
But fighting a Lacy, or a Sheika or a Hanshaw.. no I don't.
Or someone who is 45 years old, no.
Like Bully said, he's a grown ass man, he can make his own decisions. Doesn't matter which way I feel or not.Comment

EDIT: Do you think he has a chance? I have a strange feeling about this fight, it would be cool if he did win thoughComment

Yeah, I do. I tend to stay away from opinion on this fight in NSB, because I will only get flamed for it. I just feel like fighters who throw a TON of punches, or have a big punch is a serious danger for Roy. Someone who is the age of Bernard, someone who likes to pick his shots, box and counterpunch like Bernard is good for Roy. I feel like Roy needs those extra few seconds to get set, and then figure out what he wants to do, and then do it. I believe with Bernard he will get those chances. Someone like Joe, didn't give him a second to do anything, was a terrible style for a 40 year old Roy.Comment
