I agree, but it seems obvious to me how he has improved. Just look from the first JMM fight to the second. In the first fight Pac was clueless once Marquez got his timing down. Marquez easily won the majority of the rounds. The second time around Pac was not nearly as helpless against the style and it was a much more back and forth affair.

Cotto isn't Mayweather or Marquez when it comes to counter punching or anything but he certainly wasn't bad at it, and Pac had no trouble at all with anything Cotto threw at him.

Hopefully him and Pac fight this year so all these hypotheses can go away and we can find out for real.

Please that wasn't even the worst schooling of Pac's career. That was a great fight. JMM schooled Pac in their first fight worse than Morales did.

Exactly. At 130, Floyd would have beat Pac worse and possibly even stopped him.

I had Marquez winning both of those fights. I agree Coto can counter punch at times but he is what he is a come forward bull of a fighter. Mayweather is a whole different beast. The defense will be unlike anything Pac has ever witnessed. Granted JMM was out of his weight class but the defesne he showed in that fight was nuts. I mean Floyd was literally immpossible to hit at times.

imho Erik schooled PAC more convincing than JMM, the fight with JMM was closed and it can be argued that either fighter won but there was no question who won the PAC-EM 1 fight, plus it was the fight the both fighter and trainer realize and knew that they have to improve that right hand, their game as a whole to keep on moving forward ...

I think even Pac fans will admit that you are an awful poster. You post one line everytime.

Give me your fight breakdown on:

                    Mayweather vs. Pacquiao

I agree defensively Mayweather is unlike anything most fighters EVER have ever seen, but he wouldn't give the amazing offensive counter punching in return that Marquez gave Pac, which is the biggest reason Pac struggled so much. Not to say Mayweather is bad offensively, but Marquez didn't fight backwards and land pot shots he stood in there and made Pac pay with big combos whenever Pac made a mistake. I don't think Pac would face that or get quite as discouraged against Mayweather.

Really, Mayweather is the best defensive fighter and Pac is the best offensive fighter, so many of their strengths would be canceled out by each other.
