If it had really been about simply raising standards in boxing, as he pretended, then he would not have made those completely unfounded public accusations.
And if he didn't know that making those accusations would kill the fight, then he is a lot dumber than I believe him to be. Pacquiao has always been willing to kill a fight if he feels he's being disrespected in the negotiations - and especially if he feels the Filipino people are being disrespected. He was willing to kill the Hatton fight over purse share because he thought he was being disrespected. The same with the De La Hoya fight. The moment Floyd started making those accusations and making demands based on those accusations, I knew the fight was about to be killed. If Floyd didn't know that, then he's a fool.
He could have got his 14 day cut-off if he'd conducted the negotiations differently.
Mayweather agreed to 10 million for each pound over 147 when he has never weighed over 147 for a welterweight fight. So that reasoning is BS. And no, he was never going to get the 14 day cut off no matter how they negotiated. Either they were going to agree to it or not. And they chose not to.

I work with a lazy eyed phillipino and that dude doesn't now what to say about Pac.. All he comes back with is "What happened to Cotto"?, then I don't have shyt to say so are boxing convo never makes it anywhere......
Pac didn't want that fight or else he would have accepted the 14 day cut off. He felt threatened and bullied as ANY fighter will feel when about to face Mayweather. He beats anyone at mind games in and out of the ring. Again, as Roach explained Pac wasn't ready for a fighter like Mayweather in March. All he had to say was we need more time.... not the our feelings are hurt game. The fight WILL happen if both sides win there next fight. Pac will give in IMO and prove that he has nothing to hide..... All it will do is cause arguments from Roach and Sr..... The two that really made this all happen in the first place other than the few boxers that said Pac was juicing. Mayweather is just backing his dad and "requested" in contract a random test up until 14 days of the fight. Pac walked away ***** all sore and went to fight in court and a lesser fighter in the ring......

Pac too angry hahaha jesus man that's just pathetic.
and pitiful....... Pacs a grown ass man and a FIGHTER.... the accuses your trying to make don't do any justice for a FIGHTER and or a grown ass man.

Which Pac expected Floyd to do when Pac offered the 24 day compromise during the mediation. But he didn't.
The 14 day offer wasn't made until after the mediation had failed, by which time Pac was too angry to be willing to negotiate any more.
I think Pac should have swallowed his pride, but he has never done so in the past, when he's felt disrespected, and I was not at all surprised that he refused to do so this time.
Floyd should have known that would happen (if I knew it would, then he should have been capable of working it out, he's an intelligent man); and if he really wanted the fight to happen, he should have known he was going about things in a way that was bound to be counter-productive.
And his recent statements that he will no longer be willing to accept a 50/50 purse split, or a 14-day (or any) cut-off, are also extremely counter-productive, if he genuinely wants the fight to happen.Last edited by Dave Rado; 02-22-2010, 10:59 PM.

If you've read all my posts in this thread, you'll see some in which I've said that if Pac wanted the fight as badly as he claims, he'd have agreed to Floyd's terms.Last edited by Dave Rado; 02-22-2010, 10:58 PM.

After Mayweather-Mosely destroys Pac-Clottey in ppv sales not only will pac have to give in and adhear to a fair fight through accurate random blood testing but, he'll have to give up the 50/50 purse split. Who in their right mind would give a guy who is proven to make less than you a 50/50 split. It'll probably be 55/45 because thats fair. Peace.

Mayweather could in fact gone about it a different way but I doubt would have had to time for it to come into effect for a fight in March (a date requested by team Pac). So why not put it in contract? Just as Pac wanted for the weight fee. It was in contract and im sure they thought "MONEY" Mayweather would turn that crazy request down, just as the 50/50 split. Mayweather in fact didn't.
At the end of the day you have 3 people.
1. The people for Mayweather saying Pac walked away because he was scared of Mayweather and or testing
2. The people that say that Pac shouldn't "give in" to Mayweather's demands and Mayweather was scared
3. The people looking in that don't care about either sides but see fighter A trying to get fighter B to take a test and fighter B says no, walks away to fight a lesser fighter.....
How many people are 1 and 2 and how many are 3? Boxing is popular but NOT that popular. A lot of people are looking in and seeing a guy walk away from a major fight because his feelings where hurt due to a steroid test and accusations...... The sport looks bad. Both are to blame BUT team Pac could have said OK 14 days lets prove everyone wrong.
