BoxingScene.com has heard through multiple sources that negotiations have restarted to finalize a fight between WBA junior welterweight champion Amir Khan and challenger Paulie Malignaggi for May 15 on HBO. Paulie Malignaggi We had a minor problem with GBP trying to get the KHAN fight in DETROIT, but it looks like tis back on track for NEW YORK. KHAN pulled the balls he says he has out his purse, and finally stepped up!

Amir on his Twitter page said the following:
"Come on guys why hate I'm fighting paulie malanaggi and wil K.O him. I am willing to make a loss in money in this fight, just to shut mouths"
It looks like Amir is giving a litle bit of his purse up to make the fight happen.

Khan will probably still make over $1M as he's apparently getting all of the UK TV PPV as well.
Getting paid seven figures to fight a handpicked opponent in a fight designed to make you look good and earn you even more money in the future. Nice work if you can get it.
