Fighting bums at 168 then moving up and beating old men, doesn't make a great resume. And the Kessler argument goes out the window after Ward brutalized him.

    MAYWEATHER>>JOE
How does fighting and old blown up lightweight make floyds resume any better? and his wins over hatton and delahoya mean nothing too after what pac did to them.

Skills wise RJJ and Mayweather would be p4p over Joe.
Joe made moves at the end of his career, but how dangerous fights were those really?
I mean we all thought Kessler was good but he was a bit unknown. Bernard is always a tough fight but he was 42. And as for RJJ, he is, and has been, shot for a while.
He was also dropped twice in those three fights. I mean props for getting off the canvas and winning the fight, but it certainly takes a bit off the victory.

Calzaghe has other fairly good wins like Bika, Reid, Woodhall, Viet, Mitchell and Brewer.

How? To be #1P4P you have to at least beat P4P fighters. Hopkins was ranked at the P4P top 10 after his win over Pavlik I believe or maybe he was in thel ower list of the P4P. And Jones? come on, Jones is my favorite boxer of all time but he was no where near the P4P list when he fought Calzaghe.

I agree that Ward is a very good fighter, but at the end of the day many Calzaghe fans were picking Kessler to KO him. And that is still regarded as one of Joe's best wins. Also Ward did it much easier.

Wow...in that case I will add Corley, Gatti, Hernandez, Sosa, Baldomir, and Marquez for Floyd then.

Jermaine Taylor has it twice, and look where he is now.

Bernard should not be judged for losing close decisions against speedy fighters, when he is over 40, and by all accounts should be retired.
