Now, Why would we hear about Clottey and "unprecedented" penalty when his purse is only 1 million. If you do the MATH, 20 % of 1 million would be 200,000, which would be the equivalent to Floyds 10 million of 50 million.





The only reason why the amount is "unprecedented" to you is the PURSE. This megafight between Manny and Floyd is rare, and "unprecedented", and is rumored to have the fight make more money than any fight in history.

Now if you do the MATH again, 10 million sounds unprecedented because no fighters were EVER scheduled to make more than 50 million in a fight. Heavyweights were close but when do they ever come in overweight?
