They're new, fought all nobodies so far. Can't determine anything by their records. They are prospects, both showing promise. That being said, Codrington has a very good style, a more cutie style, but he has power too.
Is Cal***gie gonna fight Lacy or what?

Mario Veit, Twice Only ever lost to Calzaghe.
Byron Mitchell, The WBA super-middleweight champion.
Charles Brewer, The IBF super-middleweight champion.
Richie Woodall, The WBC super-middleweight champion.
Omar Sheika, Just stretched Lacy the distance, Calzaghe beat in 5 rounds - 5 years ago. Sheika's beaten loadsa fighters like Glen Johnson etc.
Robin Reid, The WBC super-middleweight Champion
Chris Eubank, The great! Chris Eubank...
And Joe's made all those mandatories... There's not that much difference between Joe Calzaghe and Bernard Hopkins career's. (Difference being Bernard is American and so when he makes mandatories against Morrad Hakker/Carl Daniels/Robert Allen it's quite acceptable).
The difference between Bernard and Joe is that Joe only fights guy's in HIS weight class where as Bernard picks on welter/lightweights.
And Joe comes to fight!... Where as Bernard comes to run.
I'd love to see Joe smash Bernard to pieces, but Bernard will never fight Joe, Bernard is looking at fighting the Mayweather vs Gatti winner...
I give up...Comment

Calzone would stand zero chance against him...and I dont think would last 3 rounds.

hmm
Calzaghe is the best Super Middleweight and i can't see Lacy, Kessler, Beyer or green beating him. People seem to forget how Calzaghe battered Sheika in 5 rounds, Lacy got a close decision against an older Sheika. Calzaghe as also beaten Eubank, Woodhall, Reid and Mitchell these opponents are a lot better than what Lacy has faced.
And also dont forget Bernard Hopkins has been ducking Calzaghe , Hopkins moans about not getting big money for fights then he turned down £2.5million to fight Calzaghe at the start of last year and fought Joppy and beat Allen for the 3rd time.
Eubank was old as **** when Calzaghe fought him.
Hopkins has not ducked Joe. name one fight Joe has had outside the UK or in the U.S.? Bernard is THE middleweight champ, and fights in the U.S. (where any fighter who wants world recogntion goes to fight). For you to say Hopkins id ducking Calzaghe you must think Hopkins should come to the UK to fight Joe...yeah right. Calzaghe hasn't fought anyone of note lately anyway (since you seem to be picking on Hopkins' opposition). Veit had already KOd in 1 round and the rematch should have never been made.Comment

He has an excellent chin, and a bigger heart than people give him credit for.

There's not a cat in hell's chance of Lacy stopping Reid, it's more likely to be the other way around. Reid will be far too cagey for him and will probably nail him when he starts getting frustrated.
Everything Lacy has, Calzaghe has plus more...faster, better skilled, more experienced. I can't see this fight happening anyway...JC will have moved up or retired by the time Lacy's built himself back up to a title shot after the Reid loss.Last edited by Cletus Funk; 05-14-2005, 12:14 PM.Comment

That whole "JC does it better" is ridiculous. No way a eurogarbage fighter can beat the better fighter in Lacy IMO.

Originally posted by Runw/knivesYou obviously do not know who Vanderpool is. His last fight...he was knocked out yes. After Lacy already sent him downhill. His first loss was a stoppage due to a cut. He went the distance with Hopkins, Johnson, as well as multiple other punchers and is noted for having one of the best chins in boxing.

Can you point out what you think makes Lacy a better fighter because I can't see one thing thst the yank***** does better than JC.Comment

Thompson and Crawford are respectable fighters...and Lacy bulled through them. Rubin Williams is an extremely underrated fighter who is very skillfull. He could not deal with Lacy's Power and tenacity.
Lacy's style proves he has a very good chin. He is succeptable to shots...and has shown he can take them. Calzaghe may be a really big puncher.....but so is Reid. I suppose we will cross that bridge when we get to it: but watch him completely demolish Reid for the first time in his career. You will more than likely then be convinced he is a machine.
I guess I see what you are saying....because I really have no arguement. Lacy is still in the early phase of his career and Calzaghe has already been established. Either way, I dont see him beating Jeff.
