WBA heavyweight champion David Haye has been searching for a country that wants to claim former two-time heavyweight champ John Ruiz. Haye defends his title against Ruiz on April 3 in Manchester. Haye is a big mouth. I'll bet anything he never comes close to accomplishing what Ruiz has done at heavyweight or beats the better caliber of fighters Ruiz has beat at heavy. You don't have to like him, but if you're objective you have to say Ruiz, in all his boringness, was a pretty good fighter.

I'm a Haye fan but this sounds childish.I know Ruiz is a hard fight to sell but then Haye doesnt have to resort to childish talk.So what if no country claims Ruiz, that's not important.

No matter what people say Ruiz is effective at what he does and he's doing what he knows best

Exactly, it's all about money and Haye is as good a publicist (and promoter) as he is a boxer. Ruiz will be a hard sell even in the UK, and if a bit of smack talk gets more bums on seats and PFV sales, that benefits both of them.

With that being said, what haye is doing is the right thing, and I didn't see haye saying ruiz was a bad fighter! But he's saying nothing but the true. And I guess ruiz is happy with that. That has been his role his entire careeer and I don't expect that to change now. Hope that hayes live up to his word and make ruiz FIGHT, it seems like haye is very confident about his win. Too bad ruiz doesn't hava KO punch... Haye brings excitement to the game but I want to see him against. The top dogs after ruiz...
