Just watched Barrera vs Khan for the first time.

Didn't watch it till now because I knew that they CHERRY PICKED Barrera because of his name, and because he's was too small and way past his prime.

But my first impression is that Barrera got a standing ovation and Khan got BOO'd, badly....


I was puzzled, because I know Khan is from the UK himself and Barrera is Mexican.... Can someone from the UK explain this for me? Some of my English buddies tell me that people are very prejudice against ******s/Middle Easterners/Indians over there.

How's Amirs popularity in the UK? Do people perceive him well? (and I'm refering to the English population)

Its a mixture of both, Barrera was giving a standing ovation but i see NO reason why Khan should have been booed, But the fight happened in Manchester and am sure some of the fans dont really like Khan because some of them are strictly Hatton supporters....Its complicated in a way.

Im british and wanted barrera to win because he is a legend, not only that but we all knew it was an unfair fight, any fight with khan in the UK is unfair, his opponants get stopped too early and he gets way to many chances, if khan was in USA from the start of his career he may have a loss from willy limond and michael gomez, the refs always helped him cos they were on frank warrens payroll and the barrera fight was no exception, that fight should have been stopped earlier as a no contest, conveniantly though the cut was deemed fine until 4 rounds had passed where it was ruled a win, what a shambles.

Whether us british people wanted Barrera to win or not is a mooted point and a cover up, Why do we have to boo Khan?? Thats the real question, I mean i like Tszyu and i think he was a legend and when he came over i applaud him but we didnt boo Hatton because of it.

Khan wasnt booed because he was fighting gomez or didnt fight Thaxton neither thats BS,Hatton didnt fight Witter who he ducked like the plague and Hatton was also feasted on lightweight while he was under Warren.....people make too much excuses.

That fight was a bit of a joke but you always get old legends fighting up and comings just before they retire, sometimes they pull out one last performance, sometimes they don't. I wouldn't worry about Khan too much (I neither a hater or big fan) as you can't avoid the big names forever and we will find out what he is made of soon.
