    WBC opening scoring is ******!

open scoring sucks.I understand that maybe it may make the losing guy fight harder but last night in the valero fight I thought after they read the score in the 8th demarco totally gave up.he thought he had no reason to go on & so did his corner.if they don't know the score maybe they go on & score a late knockout(just speculating)but since they already knew the score & it was onesided they figured why go on? I think it discourages the fighter who is behind more than motivates him.IMO I think open scoring should be eliminated.it takes away from the fight & suspense.what if the guy who is clearly winning is behind because of poor judging? How does he respond? Too many problems in my eyes & takes some of the drama away from the fight.

i agree but maybe some judges wont give a clear round for one guy to the other guy if the fight is fixed

good post... i think that was the reason they stopped the fight yesterday because they realized they couldnt knock out valero... the suspense of going to the scorecards makes the fighters fight even harder in the championship rounds.. argulo was on a frickin bike the last round against guiterrez because he knew he had the fight won.... thats not what champions do.... WBC is a complete frickin joke IMO... I would never wanna see that crap in a manny or floyd fight...

I agree and I disagree. In Demarcos case you are right, it could of discourage him but does it matter because chances are he was not going to come back either way. The open scoring could allow a close fight that has a chance to go to either fighter to make them dig deeper and possibly give you a better ending. It could also make the guy up by a round or 2 trying to coast through it though. It has it's pluses and minuses depending on the situation. I think they should give the scoring at round 6 and then nothing after that.

it has it's pros and cons. it doesn't leave any mystery or excitement at the end of a fight, right before they announce the decision.

I had more of an issue with the headbutt rule. Always have. How can you take a point from a guy because he did not get cut? Bad rule.

i didnt like that either. i dont think you should lose points for an accident. and reading the scores out early is ******. you dont fix what aint broke.

exactly im kinda 50 50 on it on some cases it makes for less robberies or atleast you wont be surprised if its going ot happen because you see how they scored up to the 4th and 8th round. To me it didnt really do nothing to demarco he just clearly had a better fighter in front of him and not the right style to beat valero imo

that's a negative aspect but a positive is that it makes it harder for fights to be fixed
