I don't think last night, DeMarco's goal was to sc**** Valero with an elbow though.

It seems to me they should judge point deductions and give them on a case by case basis.
Exactly! And i dont think it even matters who causes the clash. The party that doesnt suffer a cut loses a point. Case by case is the best way to go.
it has it's pros and cons. it doesn't leave any mystery or excitement at the end of a fight, right before they announce the decision.
That's exactly how I see it.

just watch o'neil bell vs mormeck II as proof as too why open scoring sucks. That fight was on pace to being fight of the year, but about half way through the fight surprisingly mormeck was way up on the score cards so he went on his bike for the remainder of the fight.

Isn't that sort of a good thing? I hate waiting for a decision just knowing some guy is about to get jobbed.

So far I know of two open scored bouts that resulted in a fighter quitting instead of fighting on. Last night's lightweight outing and Vitaly vs Peter.

If boxing scoring wasn't such a joke there would be no real demand for open scoring from fighters or fans. Fix that and open scoring disapears...

It's the same reason Sam Peter quit against Vitali. He heard the scores, realized he was getting no credit from the judges, and became very discouraged. Open scoring should be done away with.

Would it have been any better for Peter to continue in that fight? It was almost as bad as Johnson-Klitscho...

So depressing that people advocating it think it will at least reduce the amount of robberies.

This isn't the solution. Even though judging in boxing is a pitiful joke for the most part.
