I hear you. Facts are facts, and Manny has always tested clean. I think that it sucks that we live in an era where PED use is so rampant that it's easy to suspect almost any athlete, but that's just the way it is.
I personally don't think Manny is on anything, but I can definitely understand the speculation after the whole mess with not taking random blood tests. The even sadder thing is that if you try to say that around here, a lot of people take that as if you hate Manny and worship Floyd. I swear, this s**t is as bad as ******** vs *************.
I'm glad that you think Manny's clean. I hope to prove to you once and for all that Floyd Jr. uses Xylocaine in his fights IN SPITE OF THE RULING AGAINST IT.Comment

So? The fact remains that not only is it a banned substance in "some" states, its even banned in NEVADA.
I hate to break it to you "buddy", but i didn't say "just prior to". It was none other than in an HBO Documentary.
You want other proof that Floyd Jr. took xylocaine in his fights? None other than ROACH HIMSELF SAW IT HAPPEN.

The term "just prior to" does not necessarily mean on fight night or even the week the of the fight. Also, Freddie Roach saying that Floyd used it for other fights doesn't mean that he was using it illegally.
You do realize that Doctors from the commissions can permit the use of the drug to treat minor injuries, correct? When they test for it, they have a standard on how much trace amounts of certain substances are allowed to be in the fighter's system. If Floyd was ever doing anything outside the parameters of what was permitted when it comes to xylocaine, it would have likely come to light during all this nonsense.
Haters are just looking for reasons to keep a flame war going over something that is ridiculous.Comment

Just look at the type of comments that this thread has generated.
Hes nothin but a duckin cheater.hes a fraudshut up..using this drug is illegal coz it gives Floyd the unfair advantage. and this is not just an opinion from a drug user like Floyd Sr. this video proves that Floyd used this illegal substance before. Unlike u *****s who will start hate threads with opinions like ur god, Sr.And then the fruit cake says that he will try to clean sport of boxing.
First he needs to stop using illegal XYLOCAINEComment

I realize that it was said in the video, but you are missing the point.

So in short,
He used it.
On a fight.
True, they use it to treat injuries and the like, but if a person is injured to the point that HE HAS TO TAKE DRUGS TO FIGHT, then he has no business fighting in the first place.
It is true that haters from both sides want to maintain flame wars, but i assure you that my goal is not to spread hate, but simply to show you why i believe that Floyd's using Lydocaine in a fight is a very serious and why i believe that it SHOULD BE STOPPED.
And that he's a hypocrite for pretending to clean up the sport when he's deep in using drugs himself.
Anyway, my proof, though circumstantial that Floyd still uses Lydocaine is the fact that he suddenly, without explanation, bailed on fighting Manny at Texas in spite of that potentially adding MILLIONS to his purse.Last edited by AFighter4U; 02-06-2010, 12:41 PM.Comment

Yes, yes, irresponsible and ****** comments will always be found in forums, no matter how enlightened the discussion. But that shouldn't stop people from defending what they believe in.Comment

Afighter, the problem with what you are trying to argue is that Xlyocaine is tested for, and fighters have been reprimanded many times in the past for using it when they were not supposed to.
Floyd has fought in plenty of places besides Vegas and has never dropped a dirty test for any substance in any of his fights. That is a fact.
Now, in my OPINION, xylocaine is not a big deal to begin with, and most people seem to agree with that notion. It really is just a small number of people who seem to still be beating this drum, but I do respect that you can at least have a civil discussion about it.Comment
