This topic has been beaten to death, and only people with other agendas start threads like this. Drugs like Xylocaine and Cortisone are used by athletes in all sports, and it's not nearly as taboo as a handful of haters and nuthuggers are trying to make it out to be.

Floyd has never tested positive for any banned substances, and to try and equate the use of a pain-killer for an injury to that of drugs like EPO and HGH is absurd. A LOT of fighters use those type of injections to treat their hands, even Freddie Roach did when he was a fighter.

It's not a big secret to anybody, and we don't need another useless thread of flaming and ignorance.

To add to that, Xylocaine is tested for. If he went in the ring doped up on Xylocaine all the time, he would get fined, possibly even a minor suspension for it.

Can urine testing after the fight catch the boxer who uses this drug? how would u know that boxers are tested for xylo prior to the fight? u have proof or it is just ur "opinion" or maybe the "opinion" of Mayweather Sr?

Please, show us all the evidence that Floyd injects xylocaine right before he gets in the ring.

It's a known fact that they test for it and can detect it.

If it isn't taboo, then why is it banned in 49 states? Why ban something if it is of no consequence?

True, Floyd has never tested positive for any banned substance cuz he uses mere TECHNICALITIES to use AN ILLEGAL SUBSTANCE, just like criminals get away with crime for TECHNICALITIES.

Its not a secret to anybody, but you guys tend to ignore it.

True, true, but that fact would be moot if its in Nevada since its TECHNICALLY LEGAL.

The issue here in Las Vegas has been whether or not lidocaine was permissible. The drug is not on the banned list of the World AntiDoping Agency (Wada), yet it has been ruled illegal by the Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC), under whose authority the contest is being run.

Kizer confirmed yesterday that lidocaine is banned for use by boxers within a week of a bout. “If lidocaine is injected,” he said, “the pain receptors in the boxer may not work and he may not know if he is hurt.” He also confirmed that lidocaine would be tested for after the bout, at the Quest Diagnostics laboratory in the city.

                      The Washington Post | February 19, 1989 |
In a prepared statement, British boxer Lloyd Honeyghan said he has requested a Nevada State Athletic Commission hearing after it said traces of Lidocaine, a banned painkiller, were found in his urine samples

this has been tested for the past 20 years in nevada......

Lidocaine is a substance banned by the Nevada State Athletic Commission. But Marc Ratner, CEO of the commission, said there is no violation as long as De La Hoya informed the commission when he took it and why.
