Theres no reason to **** on Floyds resume, especially now being he is 32.
I have a problem with ****ting on Roys resume to UP Floyds.
And I stand by what I say, beating the best fighter in the division is better than beating the lineal titlist.
They both have their accolades.
Floyd has 6 titles in 5 divisions.
Roy has four divisions, he's also a 3 time LHW champion... he also set a record going from having a MW title to a heavyweight title... then he REGAINED the LHW title after winning a HW title which is another record.
They both have their own seperate accolades.Comment

Lineal championships don't mean everything. I have no problem with people ranking Jones in front of Mayweather, the man ruled the sport in the 90s and for a third of the 2000s, ranked pound for pound number 1 for almost 10 years, fighter of the decade in the 90s, first fighter in a 100 years to win titles at middleweight and at heavyweight, first fighter in a 100 years to win a heavyweight title and move back down to light heavyweight to win a title. I believe he held 6 titles in 4 different weight classes. The lack of lineal titles should not hold him back.Comment

Kid,
You will never see another roy jones in your lifetime. he was years ahead of the field in terms of sheer god given ability. were talking reflexes, hand eye coordination, speed, etc etc. jones fought with his f'n hands down and dominated people. he wasnt in the toughest era in terms of competition, but wins over hopkins/toney are great no matter how u slice it. jones accomplishments were hall of famr worthy, but in terms of natural ability he's so far ahead of anyone ive ever seen it's not even funny.Comment

You shoudn't put Nunn in the same category as those other fighters you mentioned. Especially Baldomir. At one time Nunn looked like he was going to be an all time great. He was a dominant champion and beat a lot of top fighters at the time. After his one punch KO win over Sumbu Kalambay(who beat Mike McCallum) many people thought he was the best fighter in the world P4P. Many people thought he was going to be another Ray Leonard. And Toney was losing badly to Nunn before he caught him with that left hook. The gap between Toney and Nunn is not that wide in terms of talent.Last edited by Calilloyd; 02-03-2010, 02:51 PM.Comment
