its the right move for khan to take on marquez. beating marquez does more to raise his profile than taking on maidana. You cant blame khan for taking on marquez instead of maidana.

If it was on the basis that Khan would give Maidana a contractual guarantee to fight him next, that would be one thing. But as it is, where he's got no plans to fight Maidana at all, according to GBP, and is willing to vacate his belt in order to avoid him, it's an out and out duck, plain and simple.

No it wouldn't. Tim is too experienced and far stronger than Khan. Tim would have ran thru Khan like Swiss cheese. I like Khan's boxing ability but he's just not ready for tim at this stage. I would put other challenges in front of Khan and by next year I would be looking to challenge Tim.

It's not that I don't like Marquez, but didn't he lose his last fight? What went wrong then? He fought a bigger fighter. At 126, even 130 Marquez would win this easy, but Khan saw May's approach to the problem and will come in at 147 or more. Marquez is good, but too small. Why doesn't Marquez fight lightweights?

Roach continues the cherry picking with his top fighters. They are banking that Marquez is the smaller fighter, they forget how well Marquez adjusts in a fight. I wish he took a fight against Bradley cause they will be banking on his low KO percentage. Khan in his camp will look for any concievable advantage before they take a fight.

They will be looking for a non puncher for his next bout, it just a crying shame cause they hype this kid so much

Kahn wants to build a good profile in the states and JMM is good for that but if he vacates his belt in order not to fight maidana then he will just get a rep as a ducker.

I have said in other threads that I like JMM for Kahn,
I think the WBA should let it happen. but only as long as the winner fights maidana.

If Kahn wins then a fight with maidana will be a bigger and maybe draw more ££££££££'s so the excuse of his risk low pay will be gone.

But dont underestimate the risk that JMM poses, the difference is Kahn will get payed more for takin it.

Khan should have stuck with Warren. It is Warren that built him and dumping loyalty just for the sake of few dollars is sad. I don't feel good about this and wont be surprised if Khan loses to Marquez.
