Pavlik was 10Pounds out of his weight class.

Floyd doesnt get credit for Marquez. Hosp doesnt get credit for Pavlik.

Hopkins never would have struggled with Mayorga. Add also that Hopkins had arguably the best win of his career after he lost to Joe.

I think that says it all.

        Exactly...

At the time I felt he should of fought Pavlik too... My dream match was Chad Dawson... But, I would even taken the Froch fight...

Mayweather should have to dominate Mosley in order to be immune from the type of criticism that Joe got for not beating Hopkins convincingly. It's only fair. And plenty of people say Hopkins ducked Calzaghe in 2002 and they have a right to stand by that, even though I think Joe would've pulled out of the fight with a freak injury or something if Hopkins decided to fight him.
joe gets credit in the record books. he doesn't get much credit from the boxing world b/c of hopkins advanced age first of all, and second of all, it was a very close fight that some ppl feel hopkins actually won.

Joe deserves all the respect of a fighter who came to the ring and executed his gameplan, as ugly as it was, it was effective. There is no excuses for Hopkins who was at the time, and still is in my opinion, a great fighter.
If floyds wins a close desision against Shane then he should get the respect for his efforts regardless of the other fighters age.
If you love boxing and understand what you will get from the pairing of fighters with styles that make for complex fights, then you can enjoy just about any match up. Likewise; you will also know when you will be seeing a fights that might not fit the exitement criteria of an average fan.

Do you give Hopkins credit for beating Winky at 170?

                Those fights were crap.

                Winky at 170.

                Pavlik at 170.

                  Oh com on bro,

95% of Floyd fans are giving Shane slim to zero chance... Shane has never beaten a boxer, a Shane can not handle jab, Shane punches with his close... I mean I am even reading from Floyd fans that Floyd can stop or make him quit... That is going to be an easy...

If you remember closely when Calzaghe-Hopkins got made it was considered a close 50-50 fight... And, then in Hopkins fight he won a fight that most predicted him to lose...

You guys can not have it both ways here...

You just hating now... B-Hop gets credit for Pavlik... Most predicted him to lose.... Winky not so much credit... But, he should get the same credit that Floyd gets for JMM... If zero credit then so be it, if it is a lot of credit then so be it...
