  • Let us clarify and examine one of Floyds points during the interview. He basically said that boxers peak at around 25 years old, then starts to go downhill from there.

BUT he's fighting a 39 year old boxer in Mosley?

    • Floyd is always gonna say it his way,,, what will he say when he is beat down and knocked out by Mosley,,,,,,will he go and hide ?

agreed. ive stated it in my previous post.

Pacquiao has been a good fighter when he was in his teens to early 20s then he became a great fighter in his mid to late 20s, now hes a great fighter at 31 years of age. All i see is natural progression & development of a truly special fighter.

Bernard Hopkins didnt hit his prime until his mid 30s. He's been fighting at elite level as a 40 year old. Antonio Tarver got better in his 30s. Same thing with Joe Calzaghe. Juan Manuel Marquez had his greatest performances in his early 30s. Nate Campbell had his best performances when he was in his 30s.

Shane Mosley, the guy he is fighting is p4p top ten who beat a fellow top 10 in margarito at 38 years of age.

Why is it that Pacquiao is being specifically & unfairly might i add criticized for improving his game in his early 30s?

          • the interview reveals that floyd observed the vast improvements of manny from ordinary fighter to extraordinary fighter. he concluded that these improvements are the result of taking PED not a result of manny's hardwork and trainings.

the argument here is; to improve the skills, do you need PED? does PED boost you intellectually? what i know is, skills can be improved by constant practice/training of fight plans and strategy based on your opponents style.

another argument is the physical aspects; i don't see manny got a lot bigger for the last three years, during the fights he did not weight more than 149 lbs. it is obvious that he is very comfortable with his present weight, no need to dehydrate just to make the weight limit before a fight. without dehydrating, the body will preserve all the energy that makes a fighter a lot stronger during the fight.

i am pretty sure that floyd knows better about PED, 'am beginning to think now that he is not yet ready to fight manny and used this roid issue to postpone the fight for more preparations.

'am glad that floyd choose shane for a very tough fight and making his fans proud because finally, he grew some balls.

            • So, Floyd Jr. says a fighter can't get better? What a crock of ****! Mosley is 39, so according to Floyd, he must be trash because if a fighter can't improve under 30, then how can they improve when they are over 30. Answer that, family of thugs???

              • So many folks dislike this dude. It doesn't matter what he says or what he does..somebody is going to OVER analyze or find fault. As far as his initial comment regarding a fighter not likely being able to reinvent himself after a certain age, I can agree with it to a certain extent but most folks on this site want to jump all over the comment in an effort to criticize that they misinterpret the stmt. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion & mayweather's opinion is that pac was intially AVERAGE & went onto become regarded as boxing's lb for lb best in the last few yrs. I can't think of any HOF or Elite boxers who were initially considered average OR had SEVERAL losses early in their careers (let alone ko'd). Every truly gifted fighter Ive seen has taken the sport by storm from the 1st rd of their 1st fight on. Is floyd mistaken in his thoughts??..perhaps..but he's entitled to his opinion..just like the rest of us and if he feels that pacquiao was avg (at best) until the past 5 or 6 yrs..then that's his preference. However, he is NOT saying that an already VERY GOOD figther CANNOT improve. What pac is doing right now is pretty much unprecedented in terms of moving up so many wgt classes & still being able to carry his speed, endurance & most of all power with him. There have been a number of world class fighters from de la hoya to trinidad to wright & even mosely who werent as effective in the higher wgt classes. Hell, look at what happened to kelly pavlik after going up just 10 lbs. He got whupped by a man at least 15yrs his senior. Is paq doing it legitimately??..only he and his camp know but I do know this..IF it was mayweather who opted out of 30+ mil for something as simple as random blood & urine testing..you mofos would verbally crucify him. Yet, you still ride pac's jock like willie shoemaker. Ya'll still poppin' -ish b/c floyd allegedly turned down 8mil to fight margarito..so I can imagine what you all would say if he publicly turned his back on 35-40mil. I say there's something real wrong when a fighter nowadays rejects that kinda payday over something so trivial..perhaps it was done out of principle then again maybe the boy got sumthin to hide.

                • Floyd know's he crossed a ethical line by accusing Pac.. now he's trying to save his ass by prettending to be on some moral crusade to save boxing.. freakin sad.

                    • Please, I just have a question for Floyd Mayweather, Jr.
Is Floyd Mayweather, Jr. a Commissioner?
Is Floyd Mayweather, jr. a Doctor?
Is Floyd Mayweather, Jr. a Godfather?
Is Floyd Mayweather, jr. a *****?
Is Floyd Mayweather, jr. a Coward?
Is Floyd Mayweather, Jr. a Duck?
Is Floyd Mayweather, jr. a Chicken?
                      Is Floyd Mayweayther, Jr. nasty?

If the reply of Floyd Mayweather, Jr. to all of my questions is NO, then he should SHUT-UP and be a BOXER.
