Umm, not exactly. Until he beats Pac he is not P4P king, as Pac is #1 p4p fighter in the world, he has to be beaten for Floyd to take that.

so based on your post, why is it many ppl on NSB have been calling for floyd to fight shane, when NOBODY gives shane a chance to win?

also, against oscar, many ppl thought manny would lose because he was moving up in weight. they thought oscar was "bigger" so he'd win, while ignoring each fighter's boxing abilities. freddie roach, manny's trainer, who also trained oscar against floyd, said that oscar was old, and couldn't pull the trigger anymore, BEFORE he fought pacquiao.


against cotto and hatton, pacquiao was the overwhelming betting favorite, so not too many ppl, besides fans of cotto and hatton, thought manny would lose.

so my question is, why, before the fight got made, everybody discredited floyd, and said he was scared of shane....then after the fight gets made, it's dismissed, b/c nobody gives shane a chance at winning anyway? sounds a lil' illogical, don't you think?

People want Floyd to fight shane because Shane is the best of the WW's. Floyd has never fought a real WW before.

Cotto, Oscar and hatton were threats to Pac because they're all offensive, bigger fighters, plus he moved up in weight to fight each one.

Exactly that is why you can make a case for Poonsawat and Calderon... It has nothing to do with resume... P4P is a mythical, imaginary, opinion... there is no right or wrong answer... This might upset but by the true meaning of P4P I can probably make where P-Will do not deserve to be in the P4P top 10-20.... That is why my opinion this whole P4P **** is nonsense sometimes... Because, there is no title ,you don't lose that P4P status in the ring...

For example if Floyd goes up to MW and fights Kelly Pavlik... And, gets KO'd by Pavlik... The Ring Magazine will drop Floyd a few spot in their P4P rankings... And, Pavlik might join the top 10... But, that makes no sense... By true definition of P4P... Floyd same size, same weight, same height, same reach as Pavlik beats him easily so why should he be punished...

To answer the thread: If Floyd dominates Mosley. The ring will make him Number 1 in the world and thats what we go by. Everytime someone asks me who is the best fighter in the world. I say Pacman. Do I think hes more skilled then Floyd? No. Do I think he beats Floyd? No. But he IS the P4P King.

If Mayweather convincingly beats Mosley then Ring will rank him back at #1 p4p; because of the sense that he never lost the title in the first place; and then comes back and bets the #2 p4p and #3 p4p back to back... While Manny fought Cotto who was ranked #6 p4p at the time and Clottey who isnt ranked at all... He'll regain the title
