Floyd has been a WW for years and beat Oscar at 154 years ago.

I dont consider SMM a real threat. No one believes he really stands a chance.
In boxing its about style matchup. Not who beat who.

I could just as easily say Oscar beat SMM, and Cotto beat SMM, so Pac KOing Cotto and Oscar makes Floyd taking on SMM pointless.
But thats ovbviously illogical.

All im saying is, when Pac fought Hatton,Oscar and Cotto, many people thought he would lose or get KO'd.

also, against oscar, many ppl thought manny would lose because he was moving up in weight. they thought oscar was "bigger" so he'd win, while ignoring each fighter's boxing abilities. freddie roach, manny's trainer, who also trained oscar against floyd, said that oscar was old, and couldn't pull the trigger anymore, BEFORE he fought pacquiao.


against cotto and hatton, pacquiao was the overwhelming betting favorite, so not too many ppl, besides fans of cotto and hatton, thought manny would lose.

so my question is, why, before the fight got made, everybody discredited floyd, and said he was scared of shane....then after the fight gets made, it's dismissed, b/c nobody gives shane a chance at winning anyway? sounds a lil' illogical, don't you think?


perhaps floyd should do like RA the rugged man said, and move up and fight chad dawson....seems to be the only way dude will get credit 'round these parts...

no he isn't. his natural weight is 135-140. welterweights rehydrate to 160 pac rehydrates to 149. pac is not a natural welter he is just good enough to fight them.

Depends on what the other top pound for pounders do, and also how he beats Mosley. But that's looking too far ahead. Mosley has been dying for this fight in recent years and also wants to cement his legacy. He's going to give everything he's got and Floyd will have to be better than he was against Marquez in order to beat him.

Because he is happy at 147 without having to cut any weight. He gets to eat normally, doesn't have starve himself and stays fully hydrated. I remember Tyson himself saying that the most dangerous fighter is the happy, relaxed fighter.

If Mayweather convincingly beats Mosley then Ring will rank him back at #1 p4p; because of the sense that he never lost the title in the first place; and then comes back and bets the #2 p4p and #3 p4p back to back... While Manny fought Cotto who was ranked #6 p4p at the time and Clottey who isnt ranked at all... He'll regain the title
