Do you remember what people said...

...when Pac decided to fight Oscar? Cotto could have said NO but he didn't. Pac was just simply testing the waters..nothing wrong with that.

      I call Hypocritical bull****....

The answer is bargaining power....Pac has it and so does Floyd

You are living in LA LA land.....stop and smell the roses switch...the dracard gets what they want.....bigger split, ring size, catch weight...etc etc

That is ridiculous. Mayweather wanted to fight Mosley him when Mosley was 35-0 with 34 knockouts at lightweight. Mayweather hasn't dodged anyone and will prove in this fight that he is superior to Mosley in every way. May 1 cannot arrive fast enough.
Best **** I've read so far on this thread.

I know that when Floyd retires he will regret not fighting the Big 3 because he will see how much it negatively impacted his legacy. Every fighter has 1 person who you can say, "they never fought them." Floyd has several. And it's too late to change it. Like I said, 147 is done. If he was smart he would've realized those fights would've made him more money. Again, can you imagine the 24/7's for those fights? Epic. Floyd was and still is too dumb to realize that you can make money and a legacy at the same time. Cotto said years ago that he was going to retire at 30 so that never surprised me. He never wanted to fight that long since he's been doing it all his life. Maybe May will move to 154 and fight Martinez. That's pretty much his only option at this point. He only has himself to blame.
I'm xorry, but Mosley would have eaten up Mayweather at lightweight. Mosley defended 8-10 times and won all by KO. I don't know when I've seen anyone as startlingly fantastic as Shane Mosley at lightweight. Not since Macho Camacho anyway, and nobody as good since.

            Mayweather Checkmated

Mayweather run out of excuses of not fighting another legit welter.
Mosley will fight Mayweather whatever Floyd Jr demands.
This time Mosley is fighting on Floyd's term. Blood testing boomeranged back to to Mayweather. He has to do it.

Late Friday evening, it was announced that the effort to match Mayweather, originally hailing from Grand Rapids, Michigan with Mosley from Pomona, California has resulted in success.

The fight will take place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on May 1. Golden Boy Promotions CEO Richard Schaefer worked feverishly to make the fight happen and he had intoned over the past week that an announcement of the bout could be imminent.

For fight fans, crestfallen when negotiations collapsed to match Manny Pacquiao against Mayweather, the prospect of seeing the two best American fighters on the planet face off against one another harkens back to a day when the United States dominated boxing and names such as Ray Leonard and Thomas Hearns reigned atop the 147-pound division.

Certainly one of the issues plaguing the sport in this country is the lack of household American names. While Americans Bernard Hopkins, Paul Williams and Chad Dawson are all rated in the pound-for-pound top 10, they are virtually unknown to the general sports fan.

But Mayweather and Mosley are familiar to most. While neither fighter has the sort of rabid fan base that makes Manny Pacquiao a phenomenon, both men have respectable name recognition. [Click Here To Read More]

u sound like a ****** that's butt hurt because of mayweathers success LOL no one cares about the 1 demesinal gorilla rican named *cotto*

cotto always looked like trash when he fought good opponents. i remember when he did the cotto fort dance against demarcus chop chop corley. and he got ripped all up against judah. he ran for the later rounds with mosley (which i had a draw or a close decision for mosley) And cotto was on his back against Torres. i could do the same thing. lets get back to basics. WHO IS COTTOS GREATEST WINS? who has he actually BEAT that has made him this super fighter so above mayweather? i won't even mention margo because he is FILTH to me. TRASH. shouldn't be mentioned EVER again. cotto has beat. mosley, clottey, Malignaggi, how in the world is that better then mayweathers De La Hoya, Marquez, Corrales?

                IT ISN'T.

AGAIN U LIVE IN HATER DELUSIONS. if mayweather beats shane and pac he has solidified his mark in the sport of boxing regardless of what some fat beer guzzling loser thinks.

u claim that mayweather should go up to 154 and fight "Martinez" and this is somehow the only way for mayweather to prove him self as a worthy fighter in your DUMB disillusioned filled BLANK "mind" LOL!!!

first thing. mayweather has NEVER fought at 154 and couldn't even make it when he tried.

2nd thing. Martinez just got beat by williams (he LOST to willams although it was close) so a rematch should be in his future with williams (i have williams winning that one too, just by a clearer score)

3rd. mayweather is fighting mosley. the BEST WELTERWEIGHT IN THE WORLD WHO COULD GIVE MAYWEATHER ALL TYPES OF FITS...

your argument is POINTLESS and MEANINGLESS. it's mere rants of a BITTER individual which LIVE only to see mayweather LOSE LOL

                IDIOT.

Not at all, Mosley was a blazing killer at lightweight,-he'd have half killed Mayweather, without getting his hair disarranged.

I've seen all the famous lightweights from Joe Brown to the present day and I believe I know what I'm talking about. Mosley wasn't only blazing fast, but a really heavy puncher at that weight, who could deliver 5-6 punch combinations in half the time of any boxer I've seen since Camacho. Mayweather,if he was lucky, might deliver half that amount in the same space of time.
