It's true that Cotto was rocked on many occasions, the difference before the Margarito fight was that he always found a way to win and in convincing fashion, that type of will/spirit died with Margarito and once a fighter loses that instinct....game over. But he was a different animal pre-Marg, he had the mindset to overcome, apparently that is gone.

Thats because he could hit his opponents with the power....Corley and Judah rocked Cotto badly........

its a different proposition trying to hit mayweather cleanly........


Cottos has always been suspect....it imroved at 147.....but Margarito clobbered him to death................

Floyd was retired for 2.5 of the five years he was at welter......he fought oscar and hatton in between, something all boxers would do given the chance....all boxers want big $$ fights....look at how many threw their hat in the ring to fight pac and mayweather after the negotiations fell apart.......

He cam back and fought JMM to set up the big money fight with Pac, who backed out over random blood testing......and now mayweather is targeting a big money fight with mosly....he knows it will be a big money fight because of the fan reaction to such a fight....

Mayweather has always been consistent in going after the money.....

Well, Floyd went for that paper. Can't really blame him though
considering you got guys out there like Clottey and Collazo
that fight everyone and never seem to quite get a break
with now exception to Clottey. There is a argument of Floyd
not fighting the best COMPETITION at 147 but at the time
which fights made sense? Judah and Baldomir. Cotto actually
fought Judah after Floyd but nobody seems to remember that
and many chalked that up as one of Cotto's most impressive
wins. All I'm saying is Floyd did his thing in his career and you
can't take that away from him. People continuously talk
about him at 147 but he fought at 130/135 and is going down
in boxing history as one of the best at Jr Lightweight. He just
got famous and lost his hunger a lil. There is an argument to
be made that Floyd did try to fight Shane and Cotto. I understand
you saying the fights didn't happen but you can't disregard that
he never tried to make them happen and that's my point. To
me, Mosely now even at this stage is a tougher fight for Floyd
then Pac and Cotto. Funny thing is now Cotto is entertaining
the idea of retiring and he is only 29 and people already talk
about him in the past tense. Although he gave so much to
the sport. Anyways, can't wait for the fight May 1st.

I can't take anything away from Mayweather when he was at 130 and 135 and neither can anyone who loves boxing. That part of his legacy is sealed. No one legit questions that. But like you said, he got famous and only cared about the money. Not much sadder than wasted potential. I know that when Floyd retires he will regret not fighting the Big 3 because he will see how much it negatively impacted his legacy. Every fighter has 1 person who you can say, "they never fought them." Floyd has several. And it's too late to change it. Like I said, 147 is done. If he was smart he would've realized those fights would've made him more money. Again, can you imagine the 24/7's for those fights? Epic. Floyd was and still is too dumb to realize that you can make money and a legacy at the same time. Cotto said years ago that he was going to retire at 30 so that never surprised me. He never wanted to fight that long since he's been doing it all his life. Maybe May will move to 154 and fight Martinez. That's pretty much his only option at this point. He only has himself to blame.

I'm not even Filipino nimrod nor am I nationalistic. I don't support fighters based on ethnicity or nationalistic pride. By the way you're spending a lot of time on multiple postings regarding the Paxil comment, stop obsessing and make sure to take it with water.

At the end of the day Mosley has put in work. PWill has put in work even when he couldn't land a fight at welter. Pac has put in work. Mosley has fought Cotto. Cotto has fought Margarito,Pac and Clottey. Clottey is about to fight Pac. Fights can be made and have been made during the time Mayweather has been a welterweight, it's up to him to make them happen. How come all those guys at one time or another fought the other, but Mayweather has excuses as to why he couldn't even fight one? Just one?!!? C'mon it's so transparent. If random blood tests aren't a part of this fight, then we all know Floyd was full of it and looking for a way out period.

FYI - Mosley has agreed to random blood testing....also any future mayweather fights will require it....

The negotiations for that fight were a circus from the beginning. Everything should've been handled behind the scenes. Both sides let the media get involved and then no one wanted to back down. Oh well, boxing goes on.

I agree but Pac had more options aside from Mayweather. If Mayweather didn't fight Mosley who else was he going to fight with any type of credibility?
