Floyd Wanted to fight Mosley.......

Bla, bla, bla. I've talked about this plenty of times. Floyd was never serious about fighting Mosley back in the day. He was calling out Hamed more than he was Mosley. The tooth ache thing was to make way for the Oscar fight and he didn't have a lot of time to drop from 154 to 147 after he fought Vargas. Plus it was already set in stone that Mosley was gonna take time after that fight so Floyd called him out after knowing that just to look tough.

Floyd basically followed Mosley and Oscar to 147.

With the win (Henry Bruseles), Mayweather sets up a proposed June bout with WBC champion Arturo Gatti, assuming Gatti gets past James Leija next weekend. Mayweather, however, seems to be looking to bigger and better things.

"I'm told that [Shane] Mosley and [Oscar] De La Hoya are going to 147," Mayweather said. "I plan to join them there."

Cotto said he wanted to fight Clottey and Manny Pacquiao. He
NEVER said he wanted to fight Floyd Mayweather Jr. When asked
he probably said he would but he NEVER said when asked by
commentators that I would like to fight Flyod Mayweather Jr.
Arum said Cotto wasn't ready for Floyd at 140 and I still didn't
think he was ready for Floyd at 147. The way Cotto used to
get tagged up by everyone, he would have been a sitting duck
for Floyd who is mentally capable of adjusting in the middle
of a fight unlike Cotto. I do respect Cotto for having the
cojones to take on the guys he did but his style is tailor
made for any fighter with a pressure and or technical game.

WTF are you talking about?? The bottom line is all Mayweather fans can do is talk about what he would've done if he faced the top guys. You guys can never talk about what he DID when it comes to the welters. According to Mayweather fans, no fighter has a chance of beating him, so why even bother make the fights?? Just let that monkey retire so boxing can get back to business. Cotto doesn't call fighters out. Never has, never will. He always says, "I let my promotional company handle it." Cotto NEVER got on TV hollering about, "I want Manny Pacquiao!" or "Give me Clottey!" That's not his personality. Pacquiao never called May out either but somehow that fight made it to negotiations. Margs called May out IN PERSON. That fight never happened. Calling Mayweather out doesn't matter then does it? Nope. It is what it is.

This comment is going back to I believe the second post where someone called mosley a senior citizen... This perplexes me as he backs up with the comment that mosley has had 17 months off or something around that realm of time off. PBF was out of the sport for what? A three year hiatus before he came back... why arent people talking about his potential ring rust as well as a counter argument against floyd? I'd have to say in the past three years mosley has clocked in more professional rounds than Money mayweather has... is it any wounder how much you guys hate floyd and can't get the facts straight... I am just here as a fan of the sport, but the side taking is reminding me of cheerleaders at football games just rooting for the home team, rather than appreciating the hard work all these guys (both fighters) put in to giving us a good show.

Wins over Al, Clottey, Rodriguez (the guy Berto beat for the WBC belt), Judah, and Gatti. Was the lineal WW champ. 2-2 in title fights. Lost to Mayweather at 147 and Forrest at 154. He was obviously a very limited boxer, but he got the most out of his abilities.

The Clottey fight wasn't much of a win. He was disqualified and that pretty much has an asterisk on it. Gatti made the most out of his limited abilities too but it doesn't mean he was a world class boxer. He simply had world class heart.

when he was negotiating with Floyd. Something about weight.
Did that make Pacquiao worry as well? Damn, why can't people

Calling out Mayweather is nothing more than a dead end. Mayweather chooses fights based on risk/reward with money being the prime motivator, not legacy. At least he's signed on the dotted line for his first real test in years, after he passes then it's on to the younger elites, such as a Tim Bradley, Paul Williams,Martinez--anywhere from 147-154, either way he must seek challenges from this point forward if he wants to be taken seriously.

floyd went to 140 were alot smaller guy's were if he would have went while mosley and hoya was there he would have got in the ring with guy's like spink's and forest mayorga margacheato cintron and not shamba or whatever his name is and chop chop com-on mang he did not move up untill hit ass guy's ran the divsion

Rounds are not stored in some bank kiddo. You can not withdraw them when you need them. Mayweather recently fought Marquez. He's been active. Mosley hasn't fought since Margarito. Being rusty has nothing to do with total activity, but how recently that activity has taken place. Jordan has hooped more than LeBron over his career, does that mean he could go back to the NBA and ball on everyone?! NO! A tuneup is not a lot to ask. Who wants to see another lopsided fight? I want Mosley to have a tuneup so I don't have to see a rusty Mosley in the ring. Then what?

Arum said while Mayweather would have taken the $8 million to fight Margarito, he asked for a $10 million guarantee to fight opponents such as Miguel Cotto and Ricky Hatton, when Arum was only willing to guarantee $7 million.

Arum said Mayweather also asked for $20 million to fight De La Hoya, a fight Arum said he wasn't interested in participating in.

Have you ever thought about things from all aspects of the game?
Did it ever occure to you that fighters could have ducked Floyd too?
Most recently Manny Pacquiao? My thing is, no matter what Floyd
does he will be blamed and ridiculed. If people really followed Floyd's
career and not just made their own facts up then they would know
that he actually tried to make fights happen at the time they were
supposed to but didn't. Who fault is that, Floyd? Then you give
Cotto a pass for not calling Floyd out because he is humble but
then said Floyd ducked him because he didn't try to fight Cotto?
Floyd was the man on top and Cotto was the challenger. Since
when does the Champ try to make a fight with the challenger?
It's basically the other way around. Can't say Floyd ducked
Cotto and give Cotto a pass for not trying to fight Floyd because
that's not his style calling fighters out. Cotto earned my respect
but if the fight ever happened with Floyd, Cotto would of been
a the under dog and WE all know that no matter how much
WE would try to deny that.
