HBO's Countdown shows are ******. All it is is a bunch of boxing writers blabbing nonsense about the fight. A lot of times they don't even give real analysis. I remember the one for Hopkins-Tarver. They all just kept saying how they thought that both counterpunchers would turn aggressive just for this fight. Yeah, like that was going to happen. LAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAME.

    But, Pacquiao-Clottey wouldn't make for a good 24/7 anyway.

Those were not considered bust PPVs.

So again Pac doing 500k with an opponent like Clottey who does not have a huge following is a bad thing?
It's not that simple, you can't compare figures in ABSOLUTE terms when the PPV events happened in different times.

At this day and age, when a lot more people have easy access to order PPV stuff, a fight between a prime Tyson and a prime Holyfield would've garnered approximately 3-3.5million buys.

Nevertheless, with only a Countdown show, I'd predict this fight to have approximately 400K-600K PPV buys.

        lol..why u bring up Castillejo?

& how many times has Oscar been the P4P #1 fighter in the world?

and Mayweather did over a million with Marquez after a 2 year layoff and after Marquez had the worst PPV on HBO in 2008 doing 100K.....

if your a PPV star you remain one.....

500K for a guy of Pac's caliber at this stageof his career is terrible...

Why is this a surprise? This fight was never going to have a 24/7. HBO had to try and make 24/7 Pacquiao-Cotto intersting by overloading Cotto in dramatic slow motion scenes with eccentric music playing in the background. I could only imagine what they would cook up for Pacquiao-Clottey 24/7.
